The design of the pads does look like they are / can be divided into multiple pads, but the 4 sensors could also be how they implemented MPE.

I'm warming to the design. It definitely looks a bit better when the lights are off :)
Not too keen on the lights being directly cut into the pads but I suppose they had to do it that way because of the quad sensors underneath.

I'm really disappointed they didn't add an HDMI for external monitor......maybe it could be implemented via the new USBC out?
That was my big wish after upgraded main emgine. I'm really looking forward to the new X as I think it could look much better, having more room to play with.

Exciting time ahead!

.....I feel sorry for poor tutor. Lots of work updating the Bible again :) and a LOT of work with new expansions utilising the new quad pads.
The new power and pads should really allow for some very interesting new plugins and expansions.

It'll be Sweet if it can Stream Audio over the USB-C

According to the leaks, the Live 3 can exchange 24 channels of audio with a DAW, which would mean it’s getting USB audio device functionality.

USB-C port for computer connectivity (ISO and Android apps, seamless smart device audio sampling, and high-speed transfer of up to 24 audio channels in/out of your DAW)

I found it quite ugly on the first leak.
But on actual pictures, without all leds and lights, it's totally OK.
I hope the coating will not be the same as Live II

Why wouldn't it ? Existing MPC pass multichannel audio over USB just fine... Or do you expect capacity increase ?

Oh Wow i was unaware we could stream Audio thru the USB Ports in the Rear

Audio over USB C is Hugh for those like myself that loves to work with Cubase.. now you can use standalone and daw equipment and effects plus record live into your daw like the old days.. my question is it 24 channels stereo or 12 stereo 24 mono.. either way I'll wait until the new X comes out in a year or so..

... To a class-compliant USB interface. The current MPC lineup can't be a USB audio interface itself - so yes, the use-case of making it peripheral to a PC with a DAW isn't covered by existing hardware.

I feel like I'm being gaslit here. The MPC could always stream audio over USB when using the MPC software as a VST in Ableton, etc. I've been doing it for years. Maybe not 24 channels at the same time, but the basic functionality has always been there.

If I understand correctly, MPC Live 3 will be able to do this in standalone mode, which is a first. The only way to do that ATM is to use an iConnectivity Audio4c.
