Hi

Switched to MPC 3.4.2 just a few weeks ago.

Initially, using MPC 3 all seemed fine but a few days ago I switched it on and noticed I kept receiving this error message: "Warning: Low on temporary space". However, neither my internal drive nor my 128g SD is low on memory.

I then noticed that the internal drive had been completely wiped. (The SD card was fine - no issues at all with projects etc and nothing deleted).

Except for the error message keeping on popping up, all else seems to be fine….

Any help or advice would be very much appreciated.

Thank you
rouf

Need to contact Akai and open a ticket, could be a number of things but potentially your internal drive is corrupted and might need replacing (it's just a micro SD card), there's no good reason for the entire drive to suddenly get wiped (other than purposely wiping it).

BTW you can set a different disk for temporary space usage, e.g. your 128gb SD card, it's in the preferences screen (can't remember which page though), so that might get rid of the nag screen in the meantime. But you definitely want to put in a warranty claim while you still can.

Hi

Thanks for your reply - Yes, will raise ticket with Akai.

Yes, i did set a different disk - my SD card - for temporary space usage several times but it just keeps going ‘back’ ie continue receiving the same message…

Your help is v. Much appreciated

Whatever it is, it's not a common issue, it's likely a one-off hardware fault, so I wouldn't personally let that stop me considering getting an MPC. All product ranges across all manufacturers will have the odd lemon.

Hi

First, I appreciate the help and suggestions - thanks!

So what happened?

I contacted Akai they were responsive and helpful and they agreed there was an issue. They seemed confident it could be resolved and would do it for free ....

But as the unit - an MPC One plus - was less than a year old i decided to return it to retailer and received my money back - (it was amazon).

My thoughts (fwiw)

MPCs are brilliant - and I intend to buy another one - am waiting for the new MPC Live 3!

Any electronic device can develop a fault - from research i did i don't believe there is a problem with MPCs

Hope that was useful for someone
