No idea why it always seems to irritate people. I don't remember anyone having an issue when Roland had their MV series, then people seemed to love the idea of having a large screen attached!
For me it's not about wanting it to be like a computer with large screen and mouse. I just want a self-contained music making setup that I can switch on and go....no messing around with computer and all the crap that goes along with it. I have no problem with people using controller mode but I don't want all the extra hassle of the PC.

I may be in the minority in wanting a video out but I do see others agreeing with me (now and again!)
It just seems a shame as the motherboard has a video out just sitting there unused. I'm not sure if the new USBC could be utilsed for video, maybe a future option and obviously scaling issues and what to mirror on the output or whether it could display the full desktop software, obviously with some features disabled.
Dunno, but Roland managed to sort this all out 20 years ago, so I'm sure Akai could do it if enough people request it.

i dont hate on the idea, but i think there are rarely people who would use that. if there would be a real demand for it, they would probably have thought about it.

my guess is that you wont see this ever in a future mpc maschine or any other groovebox...

That's my whole point though, it doesn't fulfil the requirement because you have to use a computer
I just feel that using conroller mode and having to start up the computer link the MPC, deal with computer issues as well as keeping plugins and stuff updated etc, is just not what I think standalone is all about.
I know I keep mentioning the Roland MV but that truly was a standalone unit. Everything was self-contained and you had the convenience of a large screen and mouse to comliment the small built in screen.
Granted, the MPC having a larger touch screen, somewhat helps but even on the X with a 10" screen it can be hard to see what's going on especially with the arranger and MIDI notes.
Even if the external screen only mirrored the built in screen it would be so much nicer and easier (with older eyes) to have a screen to see what's going on

I guess I could turn the tables and ask why the folks in controller mode don't just use a computer and ditch the MPC

....I live in hope, maybe someone more knowledgable than me can get the new USBC to connect a monitor.

I wanted a Live mini; and people got mad

This new live looks good; I am am still on 2.17 and my same live 1 from 2017, but this new live I will pass on.

I will wait for the roll out of the X2 and the MPC TWO before I jump into the next gen; as want that 3.5 software to evolve further before I switch over.

without touch being available on an external display it would direct our attention back to the natural display. i like the idea of just being able to see it on an external but i think without being able to touch it it might not be as fancy as imagined.

sidenote the TR-1000 looks good

though wish Roland would update their screen interfaces to make them less menu diving orientated.

but seems like we are returning to an era of high end studio devices made of mental and with the cost to match.

perhaps the next gen X2 will have the converters that EA-SKI was complaining about the current MPC's lacking

Roland’s menu-diving is the curse of Roland. Literally everything they have ever released ever has a horrible UI requiring way too much menu diving. And I say that as an owner of several pieces of Roland hardware.

I personally want video out. As an aging human, my sharp eyes are getting worse . The hardware can do it, it's built in. Some people don't want video out, no need to use it. But for those do, the option would be nice. And of course a mouse would be needed to avoid looking at the touch screen excessively. I don't know why people keeps saying controller mode is the direct equivalent. Controller mode is buggy and unreliable. And like others said, they just want to turn on the MPC and make music, not have to do windows troubleshooting while dealing with crashes, latency and forced updates or driver issues.

I would live the hdmi too.
Mainly for when i am doing a final mix, and having track mutes in the arranger would be great

I think HDMI Out Support would Phenomenal! Imagine being able to Teach a Class full of students on a 80" LCD or Projector Screen...WITHOUT having to Lug around a PC.
Or for Old Head Like myself...Pluggin My Live into the Living Room TV to help my Old Ass Eyeballs

Or...Hooking in to a HDMI Splitter to generate My Screen Flow on Multiple Monitors.

All I would need to bring is my LIVE and Plug right in.

It wouldn't take away from any Real Estate on the back of the MPC.

Hell...I don't know ANYONE using the Kensington Lock on the back of MPCs Yet some of ya'll find it Offensive to request HDMI Support smh

A laptop would be smaller and lighter than a Live.

24 channels over USB-C into a daw is nice that the only feature that I'm interested in.. besides that it's just good features.. again release date will show more..
