I do however like programs and would hate for them to disappear completely (it seems they did). But then I also sold off my MPC One and have found a new love for JJ on the 1000 and my trusty 2kxl (plus my Digitakt with SP404mk2 and 303). If I need more than that I’m fine using Ableton. For me it’s about sampling and using samples though so I really don’t care about those plugins Akai has been releasing (and I was happy to have gotten a good deal on my sale of the stuff I had bought).

same here but i still have and use the mpc live mk1. there are also a couple other things in jjos2xl that are missing on current mpc's that are important for production and not only for live performance IMHO: the step recording feature is so immediate (hit overdub without hitting play start, insert notes with pads, with or without autoadvance, move between steps with the jog wheel...so fast) , the ability to zoom in on sustain loop points to create a seamless loop, the buttons for zooming vertically and horizontally very quickly, the easy way to manage complex time signatures per bar etc etc...

if the upcoming update will introduce interesting stuff i might be tempted to try it and have two very different workflows available tho...

Just watched the loopop video on the Roland TR1000, looks mighty fine if you like that kind of thing. Was briefly in stock at Andertons this morning but there is literally no way I can justify the cost, especially with the inevitable MPC Live 3 purchase incoming.

But interesting to see all the moaning about the price from many of the same crowd who were moaning that Roland needed to bring back analog drum machines. Clearly has a target audience and it's clearly not them (they can wait for the Behringer clone I guess).

Thomann sold out their stock within 2 hours this morning.. Debating getting one here. I just paid off my Sweetwater card and got plenty on there to cover one, but man, I really want JUST a 909. Have to wait and see more of the specs on it and whatnot, but it's going to be tough to spend $2600 vs $350 for an RD-9..

Knowing what the Roland TR-1000 can do, and knowing what the MPC Live III will likely do - I don't know how anyone can justify an MSRP of $2700 USD for the TR-1000. That's MPC-X territory, for an arguably far less-featured solution.
