i was expecting some of this, but, it’s ALOT more than I initially thought.

Years later on the mpe, better late than never.

Still going thru the video and not finished yet.

Pads and Slider look amazing. Step Sequencer on the MPC. just seems silly to me. I know I’m in the minority there. But I know the dork crowd loves their probabilities. More audio tracks is great. BUT I hate OS3. I’m a player though first and the PAD routing matrix looks insane. Def won’t be an early adopter cuz knowing Akai THERE WILL BE BUGs. not starring Daniel Day Lewis :lol:

Yeah, man I've wanted this for a looong time.

The pad features, being able to morph between sounds on a pad…pretty slick!
The finger movements on pads are recorded as automation, so can be edited.

Having a sample and/or different articulation on each corner of a pad 8)

You wanted to trigger me? lol. I really dig the sequencer and how they’ve implemented it. Imagined the sequencer that way when I started missing one on my X. (*) Yes the pads already can be used as a sequencer but tbh it’s tedious and I never used that feature.
I don’t like OS3 on my (now last gen) X but I also never felt that OS3 was created with the last gen in mind.

I am excited. But I’ll wait like a week or so to see whether my excitement stays at that level or not. Bugs are too be expected, yes. But Bugs are always to be expected, so…

(*) didn’t show if the sequencer can be used for melodic sequences as well. Like hit the note and then the step :hmmm:

so perhaps this is the end of the Force

as now presumably all the clip launching and other features from the Force are now in the MPC

Also with the new pads that effectively allow the 64 pad sample allocation

Maybe a 64bit Force2 with 64 MPCe pads, touchstrip and 16 QLINKs? I just find it difficult to understand why they are still working on a new Force firmware if they have no intention of bringing out new 64bit Force hardware.

Otherwise that would suggest Akai are spending time and money developing a firmware update for a product that is apparently (according to retailers) discontinued. I mean, if that's the case then kudos to Akai, but I very much doubt it. :lol:

Oh no doubt having those buttons serve other purposes was a power move workflow improvement. I’m always going to trash step sequencing on an MPC. There is absolutely no need for it. What I like I like a lot! What I don’t

And yes bugs are to be expected BUT and the end of the day we expect them to be fixed too.

CV Playgroup, Clip Matrix also not coming to the older hardware?

Maybe in the desktop version since these functions can run on a higher cpu and ram?

I don't see any technical reason why they cannot add clip matrix (touchscreen only) and CV stuff to legacy hardware. That would not need the extra CPU (Force already has the clip matrix and that's running the old CPU). I'm hoping that's just marketing department getting carried away.
