Sort of ...

I created a sequence consisting of 7/4+5/4+4/4+4/4.
How?
By setting the time signature to 1/4. I then started by making a 4 "bar" drum sequence - ie what will sound like a normal bar. Then duplicated this a couple of times so I had 32 "bars" ie what sounds like 8 "normal " bars.
Now it's a simple matter of deleting bars here and there and programming the drums to sound like you want.
By removing bar 8, the first 7 bars (remember it's only 1/4) sounds like a 7/4 "bar".
I then removed 3 bars to make the following 8 bars sound like a 5/4 "bar",
And kept the last 16 bars - which sound like two 4/4-bars.

If that makes sense ...

So, yes, there's a workaround.

A good time to remember the Live 2, and the fact that AKAI thought releasing an MPC without transport buttons was an acceptable design choice.

I ordered one online and it should be here Saturday! I'm so stoked. I gotta sell my Key 61 and SP 404 mk2 but I'm down. I'm glad I kept my Roland GAIA 1 so I can use it as my keyboard in midi with the Live 3. I was on the fence, but after I watched that reveal with Sweetwater this AM I was sold. The thing looks amazing and I can't wait to give it a try!

I suspected that would be the case - the Live III's specs are pretty wild. Damn it.

So this MPC3 Pro Feature pack - I see it on my Key 61, but I can't activate it since I don't have the license. I swear I can use Google and the internet, but where the heck have they hidden it?

I think the Force still too many other advantages that they should make a mk2. This isn't the last model of this new gen Akai is gonna make, just the first one out. The new X could the MPC64 with a crossfader & touchstrip.

The Faster Processor and Extra RAM has my Attention. Hopefully it will clean up Warping and Stem Separation. They've already answered my request for the Touch Strip like the Maschine. So I'm all good to Go.
I feel bad for the Time Signature guys, who can't make Music without Sporadic Time Sig Changes lol.

And yet - they sound fantastic. Tried it with my Shure 5575LE as well as an Audio Technica AT3035 cardioid. I've got to use a Cloudlifter with my MXL R-77L, but that's par for the course with that thing - it's a ribbon mic and I have to use a Cloudlifter even with my RME Babyface Pro.

So this thing has a 64 bit operating system?

Since the MPC Live III comes with the "Pro Pack" upgrade as standard.

Would the Pro Pack be unlocked for my MPC One without purchase, once I added the Live III to my account?

I def can't afford nor need/want this Live3 (personally, not into portability/battery, speakers, less I/O (compared to X), no 16 q-links, smaller screen, etc. of the Live format.

I just got my first modern MPC (X SE) just a few weeks ago (still learning it) and it's already super mind-blowing & futuristic enuf for me, haha (esp. since I am coming from an MPC60 & S2400). So, I don't feel any gas for this
Live 3; as I'm already more than content & overwhelmed w/ this modern (for me) 1st gen X SE.

For me, not really into the step-sequencer buttons tho (too cluttered/busy). I like the MPC because it's an MPC w/ 16 pads; and not a TR nor Elektron.

Btw... what's the "pro pack" ... is that the same as the new 3.6 FW? Is the 3.6 FW free?

Not necessarily (the jury is still out on that). 8 GB of RAM does not strictly require a 64-bit Linux; a 32-bit Linux with a Physical Address Extension (PAE) kernel can also recognize and use more than 4 GB of memory, and as far as we know - MPC's OS runs on a custom build of Linux.
