I know there is for the plugins but what about the functions?

As far as I remember, features like Clip Launch in the Pro Pack aren’t available for trial, but plugins such as Reverb Pro are.

Got the Pro pack for the Live 2, everything is installed and activated, rebooted the MPC several times. But features like Clip Matrix aren't showing up. Plugins are available though. Anyone experienced the same thing?

EDIT: Deactivating, reactivating and rebooting fixed the problem. Weird.

The clip matrix is held ransom by the "pro pack" ? you gotta fkn pay for that?

They do, and for $89 it is still expensive. The new time stretch algo being the most valuable thing to me, and everything else ranging from 'could be useful, maybe' to 'meh' to 'don't care at all'.

Time sig per project is pretty ridiculous after all this buildup, but I'll take it. I'm guessing most people into alternative time sigs would also like to switch between them. I'll probably get it and the pro upgrade or whatever anyway. Since getting my MPC One (used through MF), it has not resulted in me finishing anything (which is a problem I have anyway) but it's a way better scratchpad than my ditto looper was for goofing around in the living room. Many of these new features I don't even understand tbh. Will go off and read the manual I suppose (sigh). Maybe clip launch will make this better for performance?

cause AKAI will never allow the installation of random VST that could compete with their own offering in Standalone, because they wouldn't get a dime from other vendors. On the other hand they are already working with third party devs like NI, but you still have to buy these plugins from AKAI.

Besides the MPC2 desktop software there is a VSTi2 and AUi of the MPC software so you can load it into other DAWs like a drum machine plugin etc. The same way Maschine is a desktop app and a VSTi plugin you can load in a DAW.

That the MPC3.6 has only one time signature right now, and it warns you when you change it does not bode well for Akai bringing back the MPC plugin as MPC3 VSTi3 etc, at least until they fix time signatures if they ever do.

"Can you do that tape stop thing but put a 1 beat pause after that bar?"

Yeah sure...err....
Fahk, I've got to insert a whole bar in and trim the silence in post!

I'll stop banging on about time sigs, it's not all math rock/look-at-me-Im-Thom-Yorke, I thought I'd be safe doing this "all 4/4" project in MPC3 and now I'm annoyed!

Tubedigga dropping that gold!

Both videos are made on the MPC One+

Hey @MPC-Tutor could you change it so that we don't have to remove data after = from a YouTube link to post the video here so that it's video thumbnail shows up. Or is there a good reason why its like that. This is the only site I have do this for.

MPC 3.6 aside, this is a great Amen Break chopping tutorial - I learned a lot.

As an Amen Break neophyte, I wonder: the Amen Break has several "same but slightly different" hits... Has anyone used the MPC's pad layering with random rotation to make a nice Amen Break drum program ?

I don't know, I never used this break break in my life. I'm sure someone has done something like this. If not, you can be the first.
