Loading 4k files into 3.0

Truthfully, I do not know. I never really used 96k files on my 4k.

No. Multis do not load so you will be loading files one by one.
All programs and sounds?
Yes, the programs will load with sounds but without the Multi, the program/track assignments are gone. You will have to set them manually.
All sequences and Songs?
The sequences will load, but again, without the Multi your mixer and program settings are gone. Someone may need to test if ALL sequences load in the correct order, I do know that I have no problems loading single sequences.

just bumping for the Akai spy's

Funny that this thread got bumped this morning of all mornings.

Over the weekend, after finally updating to 3.6 (I had been putting it off for "reasons") I had a fun time trying to get a legacy project to load.
The project was a very old beat I made back in my 4k days, worked on it with my OG silver MPC studio, tweaked a little more with my Live 2 in MPC 2.15 and after installing 3.6... The project would completely crash the Live 2 on load.
Not sure what was trying to load that crashed it, but I decided to try and figure it out this morning.

So, I loaded the sequence first. No problems there...
Then I slowly tried to load each AKP and learned that since PROGRAMS are now "TRACKS", I had to load each corresponding program to each track one by one.
It finally clicked when I kept trying to load the AKPs like I used to by loading them back-to-back and it wasn't working. I needed to switch to the TRACK and then load the AKP one at a time.

It doesn't seem like Multi support is ever coming EVER so this workaround is it.

You know... og poster has a really valuable idea.. If there was a legit akai brand piece of software for converting project files (as far as possible) to compatible project files for various generations that would be a hot ticket. People would buy that out of convenience. The simplest tools are the most successful tools. In idea, in execution its a nightmare that cascades across 40 years but a worthy undertaking.

Theoretically inMusic should have all the project databasing code right back to the start if they bought it all.. they just need make some libs for db management and translation. maybe some gui options for what params will become what on the target system.

Maybe they should rehire JJ...If he even wants to work with them again, or maybe he's been working with them this whole time & the JJOS was just Akai secret hustle...
