On the Force you use a button combo or go to the Pad Grid tab in the Q-Link menu with the other macro like Screen, Project 1 & 2...

No, the drum pads are not available for that use.
Force is more flexible I guess.

Not bricked, use PC method. bricked means FOR LIFE. that's just a corrupt rootfs installation. use the PC tool for flashing the rom back on.

Ok, thanks for cleaing that up. That's too bad. I really like that features for putting the track or pad mixer level on a pad macro. I was surprised to learn that the macro pads retain their pressure sensitivity, so you can make the vol go from max to min gradually like fader.

Having 64 of those all at once should require an operators license & thats just with vol. Each macro can be assigned 100s of parameters. Hopefully they'll add it.

However the UDG branded one in the photo is apparently discontinued so they sent me the Pioneer branded one instead (this one, which would normally be £20 more: https://www.juno.co.uk/products/pioneer ... 626453-01/). I

The only other UDG one is the generic 'medium' bag, U8301BL, but this is a fair bit bigger than the Live 3, so additional foam will likely be needed. It also doesn't seem to have the additional storage space behind the foam within the lid, hence I'll live with the Toraiz branding so I have somewhere to shove my macbook.

DeckSaver plans to have a new cover for the Live III "in the New Year", so we're looking at - presumably - early 2026 for a DeckSaver. If that's your thing....

Yes I guess is not the best for your use at the moment.
In the other side is the best daw in a box that I’ve ever used. Loading times are 0 and this makes me explore much more than before any plugin and sounds… it is just fantastic.

Does the MPC Live 3 have the same type of problematic powdered coating, fingerprint / dust attractive casing like the Live 1 and 2 that fades, goes sticky, etc or did Akai improve it this time?

No. It's completely smooth/hard plastic. The build quality of the Live III is fantastic.

I mean, I've seen so many MPC Live/Live II that look like the beatmakers just got done eating the greasiest food ever made, but let's be real - you can leave your Live/Live II/Force sitting in a climate controlled museum and untouched, and that crappy soft rubber coating will turn to goo still. It's all a low quality volatile organic compound and it's notorious for doing that. Thankfully the Live III will not suffer from that.

IDK...My Original LIVE and Live II still has its coating on it.....In a NON-Controlled Climate Environment in the Hood lol

Same. I had a used Force since October 2021 & its still good just scratched up. I keep a Decksaver on when its off. I also don't be touching with greasy ass hands. Some of yall is straight up savage!
