Hey Folks,

Recently picked up the Live III after using the software for 3 years.

I have noticed what I see as a possible bug but you may be able to advise please.

I have my TR8-s Roland drum machine connected to the stereo 1&2 and have linked the inputs in the prefs etc.

Created a few loops in the TR8 at 144bpm - Live project is at 144bpm etc.

Sampler open on live III and sample to pad chosen as the option.

Sampled to pad and aligned the sample in the edit window

plays back at correct speed etc but when I use new super warp on the sample it slows it down for some reason. choosing the correct bpm and both warp and bpm stretch it still slows down the sample.

Strange as it doesnt do this to samples loaded from the pool on my internal ssd as they all change pitch without slowing the sample down and out of sync with the same settings

Can someone please advise is this a bug with the 3.6 software or is it supposed to just be like this.

I can warp all other samples being added to the pool from the SSD but just not the ones being sampled to pad from ext source.

This is very frustrating as it should allow the same flexibility as the loaded samples with the warp function.

Thanks

Sampled loops often play back at the wrong speed when warped because the MPC frequently detects the BPM incorrectly. However, it should be resolved if you set the sample’s BPM correctly, so this behavior seems strange.

Yes it's very odd.

I have set the recording to the same bpm and it's still not allowing tune change and keeping time. It slows down the sample even when using any of the warp modes.

Doesnt happen with any of the loop etc streaming from the ssd installed.

Anyone else having this issue

I usually set the BPM Warp tempo to the Project Tempo. And Adjust BPM/Percentage from there

I have recorded the sample at 144bpm same as project to pad. Opened pad sample edit page. enabled warp (Super) and bpm sync. Went to change the tune to a different key and it slows the sample. The bpm is set on the recorded same to the project tempo also and its still not working.

All settings are correct in prefs for this to work as it should.

Samples being loaded to the pool from the internal drive all work perfectly as expected which is brilliant but just the ones recorded to pad from the sampler are not working with warping.

You have to set the tempo of the sample. The mpc doesnt always detect the correct tempo. As other have pointed out here but you haven’t confirmed, make sure the sample tempo is set to its true tempo
