I need to ask if any of you guys are seeing this issue. I’ve sent Akai support a video and they’ve agreed it’s an issue but they’re not acknowledging it, ie. they’re saying it’s unique to my unit. How is it even possible to be unique to my unit??

Basically, every time I load a synth plugin and press Prog Edit to open the GUI, there is a delay for a few seconds. Every once in a while a gui will open cleanly as expected, but there’s no indication of how or why. Fabric has always had a small amount of lag but now I’m seeing it with pretty much all of the synths. Even Hype (which I was always surprised by how fast it loads). This is all happening in an empty project, the same happens in a busy project and even at just 40% cpu, there can be small dropouts when opening a synth gui.

I’ve tried the factory restore file, new SD card, deleting and reinstalling the plugins. All end with the same frustrating behaviour (which for some reason only happens on my unit).

I’ve never actually tried as there’s only 1.9gb user space, I don’t think there’s enough for the plugins. But it’s a good point, I might try just one or two plugins as a sanity check.

Thanks, that’s encouraging to hear.

"Encouraging" - sort of.

I've noticed some lag when opening but wouldn't count it in seconds, I don't think, I don't really use them much tbh. I had a complete crash when opening tubesynth a couple of weeks ago, but it was a one off. I'm hella patient though, I still load from floppy disc into my S5000.
