Hey Guys- I'm new here but I'm sure I'll be asking more questions.
I have an MPC ONE with a Live 3 on the way.
I'm trying to do something kinda unusual, and wondering if anyone here who is more MPC experience can help or advise me on it.
I have some drums-only tracks that were created in Suno Studio. From Suno Studio, I can export the WAV file of the whole drum track and export the MIDI file of the whole drum track.
Suno Studio does not split drum tracks into individual stems like Snare, Kick, Ride, hats, etc.
So I am stuck with the whole file, either as audio or a midi pattern.
What I am trying to do is to get the Suno drum Track into a useable format on the MPC where I can alter the beat slightly (as in moving things in grid view)
and/or mixing and FXing individual parts of the drum track like Snare, Kick, etc.
So at first I thought, I'll just export the Suno dm track to midi, then import that to the MPC, assign a dum kit and edit from there.
Well, not so easy. The MIDI file imports, but when I select a drum kit, the suno midi track does not line up to the kit parts in the MPC drum kit. I kinda expected this, but it is a royal pain trying to figure out which line of midi from SUNO goes to which part of the drumkit (kick, snare, hats, etc) becuase they arent labeled and you really can't tell.
So I'm wondering if there is a better way to do this- is it possible to bring in the Audio WAV file of the drum track from Suno, then convert it to a sample , use it on a drum track and from there EXPLODE it to individual tracks?
Does the MPC work that way? IE.. does it do basical stem splitting where it can isolate the kick, snare, hats, etc?
Any other ideas on how I could attack this?
Thanks in advance for any help!
