I think I just bricked my MPC one

I was making a beat and I lifted up the MPC, which caused the screen to go gray. I turned it off. I turned it back on, and it won’t power all the way the pads light up and then it just stops and powers down. What do I do?

Unplug everything from it except the power and try it again. maybe you overloaded the usb bus with power draining stuff and its browning out on boot... its a problem for mpcs.

If that doesnt work, maybe the factory reset via fastboot / pc may bring it back but dunno.

Yeah, I tried unplug everything for the power supply. I tried plugging into a different power outlet. I tried using a different power supply. I’ll try the reset thing. I’ll look online about that. Thanks for the tip. I appreciate it. All the best with you.

I tried a couple hard reset things, but those didn’t work. It just won’t power enough for it to go into any type of mode I think my only way of fixing this is Kai giving me a new model cause I don’t think this shit’s getting fixed and I spent so much extra money on this and I have so many Songs made that are pretty much gone. Oh boy lol

So in music emailed me they said they can’t do anything cause it’s past warranty which is weird cause I bought a brand new almost half a year ago so that doesn’t make any sense. I thought there was a year warranty and apparently where I’m at there is nowhere near that can help fix it, which is weird cause I’m not that far away from Toronto so I don’t know who to contact, but I think this might just be the end of the MPC.

The shop you bought it from since you say the device was bought new.

Where near toronto? I am in the 705. Might be able to poke at it if you wanted. What town you from? I live near the town with the 130km exit marker on highway 11 known for it's ghetto people. I don't wanna say the name.

i am not 100% sure, but the mpc one might have a red reset button on the board close to the power supply.. that involves opening it up though. The original mpc live has that button.

The hardware reset button seems to just perform the same function as entering update/recovery mode via the button combo.

And so far none of the button things works for rebooting etc it just powers off.

yeah it does the same thing, but it got me out of the reboot death loop... i didn't do any updates but it made a change to the restart/shutdown cycle thing.. then i left it alone unplugged for a day or so, and it worked fine.. then it happened again.. then it worked fine... it really picks and chooses when to do it.

BTW, my mpc 60 from the 1980s still boots up fine.

What were the buttons that you pressed for the hard reset if you don’t mind me asking?

it is on the main board of the live mk1 where the power connects.. it is a small red button.
