I tried a translator web site and all it said "AKAI MPC2500 24bit/96kHz dice? Vessel sound beginning vessel" with no picture.

http://www.google.com/language_tools?hl=en

Enter "http://www.cdfan.cn/Photo_Show.asp?PhotoID=247" in the Translate a Web page block.

Must be true about the 2500.
All the old timers in here will remember the big debate in this forum on whether or not there was going to be an MPC4000.
Well... it happened.

It is suppose to be released by the end of the year as a model between the 2kXl and 4k plus lighter and smaller than the 1k.

Hmmm.. I'm glad that the translation says with no picture. I thought that Akai was
going to implement their Camera MPC, so we can all take live shots of our performances.

That picture in their makes it look like they are introducing the MPC Camera :)

It sounds interesting. But all this "MPC2500" concept seems to be like a conspiracy theory..Time will tell.

No pic, there was just a generic picture of a camera. There was very little info about it,
just that it was 96khz/24bit and that it was a "Vessel sound beginning vessel"

But that was it. But there have been some uncomfirmed rumors on the Akai mailing list
that somebody says that it's going to happen, and we also have Blue Haze's info on
this forum as well. And I've heard other things else where as well, so we'll see.

If it's really between a 2000Xl and 4000 and it's smaller then 1000, then that's quite
nice for live shows.

Hi Adrian,
Yea, the link doesn't work for me either any more. Maybe they were asked to take
it down. But the whole site isn't responding, so probably more of a technical issue.
IT wasn't anything offical from Akai. It looked (it was all in Japanese) like
one of those php websites, where they put info up about the latest models of synths.

It wasn't for sale, but just mainly an "info" site.

It didn't give too much info then the above, but would be ready for info when it was released.

That was tyte. I think the limited edition has wheels on it, imagine that.

Bwahahahahahaha!!!!

On a serious note I think they need to make a software version MPC that

competes with Live and Celemony Melodyne. It would also allow for

vsts.It would be nice to have all that with the MPC sequencer in a

software package. I know most of you guys are hardware fiends. How

about calling it Software Production Center. OOOOOHHHH that would be

something ridiculous...

Well, I guess I will go ahead and let you guys know. YES. The new MPC is going to be called the MPC2500. I heard about it in May 2003. I don't know any of the specs. The only thing I heard about it was that it was in the development stages.

adrian you bastard! You should have let us know when you stopped working there!

Any ideas on the specs? Only thing I can assume is that the USB will be upgraded to 2.0?

*edit* sorry I just saw you had no idea on the specs.

Which is better the MPC2500 or the MPC4000, no hold on, hold on ... which is better the MPC2500 or the Roland MV8000?

.
.
.

Tehe, just joking :)

Always exciting to hear of a new Akai product. It will be smaller than the MPC1000?! Blimey ... hope that doesn't mean the control surface will be compromised at all.

Somewhere between 2000XL and 4000? Fair enough.

May 2003 was sometime ago however and Akai have been through a lot, hope it's still a goer.

How frustrating, who knows when we'll hear anything official!
