MPC One 'Low on Temporary Space' after upgrade to 3.6

I've routed through the internal drive and apart from some users synth patches, which are 1-3kb big each, and some midi maps from 2.15, which have to be re-mapped in 3.6, and a handful of sample from 4 years ago, I've now deleted (not affecting the error message) there's none of my content really filling it up. It's all MPC preloaded filed. They all date 2019, 2 years before I bought the machine new, so is preinstalled date.

In the MPC ONE folder
154 sxq files
160 xpm files
2627 wav files

In the MPC DEMO folder are
24 xpj files

I can't see a way of seeing the total for each folder, or have to delete them in bulk, or how to move them from the internal drive to my SD drive.

I copied the Demo tracks onto the SD drive thinking if I delete the project files that would clear those sample, but that's only about 330 samples.

How do I go about copying the rest? And how do I delete them, in large chucks, surely I don't have sit and delete 2300 samples one by one.

Really I'd like to leave the demo tracks in place and delete all the rest, but I don't know how to to differentiate them in any logical way.

Tried to be clever in moving files, made an error, got fed up, and decided just to let go of the data.

Searched for 'Trap' and deleted anything with that in the name. Now and Gb free and it seems to have fixed the error message

From what I can work out, if I deletes the Project File, it deletes all associated samples. But all the factory content I have is svq Sequence files and xpm kit files (I've unchecked the 'Hide Project and Track Data folders).

Is there a way to delete the sample in batches? Otherwise I've got 4172 presses to delete 2086 samples, with delete and confirm.

I wish I had caught these posts sooner. You really shouldn’t delete any factory content from the internal storage. I did exactly that and it was fine until the next firmware update, when I got loads of internal errors and crashes. Had to factory reset back to 2.10 then upgrade to latest version, as advised by Akai support.

What you really need is the original factory restore files (Akai will send them to you if you explain what’s happened). It’s not a difficult process and it should sort out your issues.

I've been in contact with AKAI. They had me do this.

1. Download the 3.5 firmware installer - Mac OS Firmware Installer/ Windows Firmware Installer

2. On your MPC, go to Menu > Preferences > Info tab > Reset Preferences

3. Hold down the power button for 10-15 seconds.

4. Hold down the following button combination while powering on the MPC - FULL LEVEL + BROWSE + PAD BANK C/G

5. Once ready, connect to a computer and run the firmware downloaded in step 1.

Following that, please update to 3.6 again and return to step 6 to ensure the setting is still applied.

I've since found the content I deleted can be access from my IN Music Account, so I can delete it and put it back on. But to be honest, I was only keeping it because it was the factory content. I will probably never use any of it, I haven't so far.

Fair enough, if that’s what they’ve told you to do. I’ve never seen that article before, kind of reads like that error won’t happen if you don’t have disk streaming enabled.

And at no point have Akai ask me to clear my drive. The guide says "Internal Drive Space Management: Please also make sure that your internal drive is not full.". As the thought I'd just give creating more space a go, the error message cleared when I had Gb free. So in the sense "not full" means 75% full
