What key features are still missing for LIVE use of the MPC

This is a huge one for live use. If you want to play internal plugins and/or external gear through the MPC Live. You cannot hold chords/leads over sequence changes. No matter what your held notes will cut off on sequence changes. Either you need to be a robot and hit the same chord/note again exactly on sequence change to have the chord/note being still playing, or you need to not actually use this at all in your live performances. And I'm not a robot and also currently often utilize holding a chord or melody over sequence changes/parts of a song.

Hope they fix this issue soon. Breaks the whole note length "As Recorded" preference for playback. This is a staple MPC feature that has always worked prior to 3.x. I feel this is just as important for production as live use. This issue also affects clips when transitioning to a new clip/row. Strangely, if you record the same clips to arrangement then the sequence will playback as expected and not exhibit the cutoff sustain notes issue that is present in the matrix. One would expect to hear the final result while recording/playback.

Yeah, me too... But it feels like soon was a long time ago at this point.
I'm surprised there is at least no new bug fix release already after the MPC 3 Live release. Seems very sluggish from Akai when just releasing new hardware. But I guess I'm spoiled by Elektron who usually releases a bugfix with some added functionality within a few weeks of a new product release.

The Idea that you guys are imagining a "Live" Performance with ONE Box is Mind Boggling lol. Y'all want ONE Device to replicate an Entire Band full of Instruments

Please let us know What other Portable Drum Machine is Capable of this Feat?

For God Sake...set up THREE Laptops on the Stage and Let her rip! You should be able to accomplish your Live Band Dream.

Not sure where all your assumptions are coming from

My MPC Live is one of many boxes in my setup.
Currently my Octatrack does the live part a lot better and is therefore the brains.

It can be portable with a power bank. But for me the battery in the MPC is not important. Not my use case.

It's not the case that "you guys are imagining a "Live" Performance with ONE Box", it's simply a matter of some very basic oversites in the OS of this expensive bit of kit.

The ability to hold a chord down over a sequence change is an essential part of using this thing live. I use my (or rather, struggle to use) MPC key 37 in a small acoustic-based band that improvises. The MPC provides rhythm patterns and pads in the background but switching to a new sequence sends a midi stop on all channels and kills the pad. I also have a Roland workstation for a different band, which can do similar stuff and doesn't do this crazy thing of sending midi stops. That keyboard is huge though and not the sort of thing I want to lug to little gigs and open mics. Which is why I bought the MPC Key 37.

Also, the limitation of one time-signature per project is baffling - again, I've not owned a sequencer or drum machine since the 1990's that cannot cope with this very basic requirement, so no points for Akai on this one.

So, as a "live" bit of kit, Akai really need to sort these two issues out to make me happy. As it stands, I'm finding work around to use it live but I think it's going to go on eBay soon.
