Is there a program for Windows where I can create programs (drum tracks) for OS3, rather than make them on the mpc live?

I'm still learning os3 on the mpc live 2, so correct me if I'm wrong, but one thing I hate is there are no longer programs in a sense (and my old ones dont quite load everything like before).

For decades, people have made programs across various mpcs, and now it feels like a slap in the face. My programs in the 2000 xl and 1000 loaded flawless in the ren, the programs from the ren worked in 2.2 software on the live 2. Now update to live 3 and its like a big F U in the face. Or maybe I am using it wrong if someone can explain?

I tried to import previous beats and nothing is playing right or on track. Is there a windows program where I can create something where I drag and drop all my drum sounds, samples, etc. export as a xpm, and load to my live 2 and works flawless in OS3?

Programs made on previous MPCs should load fine into MPC3, I believe nothing has changed from MPC2 in that respect. And if it's an XPM it should sound identical, while PGM, as per MPC2, will be missing FX, correct filters and envelope settings etc, but common parameters should be imported (pad assignments, layers, tunings etc).

What happens when you load a PGM from your 1000? In what way is it 'effing in your face'? More details are needed to help work out the issue.

Maybe im missing something?

If you need to make programs on a computer just use the MPC Software, you have a license included with your MPC, there's even a MPC1000 PGM export option (in MPC Software 2, it's not currently there in MPC3).

Not sure about samples not importing from old MPC1000 programs, I've never experienced that. But yes, filters ignored as the filters are not the same so it's pointless exporting that. Sample-to-pad assignments, rough mixer settings, layers and tunings should all be there, then tweak away and perhaps take the opportunity to adapt the beat to use some of the newer features.
