Got a MPC live III. and love the sounds and possibilities
but connecting digital to other gear .......
i found out MPC/ S/R is fixed to 44.1 .. WHY Akai ??
all equipment in my studio is not compatible with MPC
all my gear have 48k-96k (and no 44.1) :(

>>>
Zoom L6 max mixer/multitrack / portable recorder would make 10 inputs on MPC / 48000HZ
Universal audio card studio /48000 hz
Allen heath digital SQ mixer studio /48000KZ
Elektron digitakt / 48000 hz
recording (over usbC) to Ableton same issue or i need disconnect all the other gear in the studio.

Can i change the MPC 44.1khz in/out USB C conection to 48khz with some USB C SR convertor maybe??
thanks

... And Android devices send 48 kHz too, which annoys me as I can 't use a 10€ (used - yes, Behringer U-Control UCA 222 are that cheap) USB SPDIF interface to send to the MPC's, because the MPC expects a 44.1 kHz clocked signal on its audio interface's SPDIF in.

A 150€ (used, lol - can't remember the last time I bought music gear new) Behringer Ultramatch Pro SRC2496 looks very tempting to losslessly resample SPDIF 48 kHz to SPDIF 44.1 kHz - cheaper than getting an extra Android specifically for hacking Android core into defaulting to 44.1 kHz.

Yes, I'm needlessly obsessive about remaining in the digital domain wherever possible - I make an exception for the RC-505 mk2 and all the silly analog stuff that I feed it.

And, to answer your question, no - MPC is 44.1 kHz and that's it.

I didn't expect the SP404 mk2 would give you trouble by being fixed at 48 kHz: Roland Aira, both classic and compact, offer a range of sample rates up to 96 kHz on their USB interface in either Aira Link or Class Compliant modes, and work nicely with MPC... But, on the other hand, the RC-505 mk2 is fixed at 44.1 kHz and works perfectly as a MPC audio interface (though that is a mostly pointless configuration, because of limited RC-505 mk3 USB internal routing). Roland is a box of chocolates !

Thank you Jean-Marc for the answer :) such a shame it seems only older gear can be connected to this amazing device ... but ok i l check that ultramatch one time ...and keep recording from the analog out... 8)

The gear I have, Ableton Move, OP-XY, and OP-Z, runs at 44.1 kHz. I think 44.1 kHz is pretty standard for music stuff, while 48 kHz is more from video and film. I don’t think the MPC is doing anything unusual.

It's more about why are they limiting the compatibility by only using 44.1kHz, especially for gen2 when they know how much issues this has caused its customers. The audio interface thread went on for pages. Akai should make thier own audio interfaces for these MPCs.

Oddly only the Zoom L6 (max or not) of the LiveTrak series is fixed to 48kHz.

Strange that the gen2 hardware does not work with 48kHz. Perhaps it is not possible to make the OS processes audio internally to 48kHz.

I found that the Behringer SRC2000, ancestor to the aforementioned SRC2496 is exactly the same minus the AD-DA, which I don't need, and some aesthetic refresh, which I do not care about either. They go for 60 to 100€, so I see a 60€ solution to getting a 44.1 Hz Android SPDIF output coming my way soon.

Also, it removes the copy bit - which makes it very popular in Minidisc circles. The snobbery of listening to music on Minidisc nowadays is magnificent, on par with vintage synth abuse and MPC3000 evangelism - maybe !
