A final progress update.
I'm now happily back on MPC 2.15 firmware after 6 months of waiting for fixes from Akai.

I've successfully "imported" 9 songs made up of the "sequences as part of song" philosophy.

All 9 songs works exactly as on the MPC 3 firmware except for some effects that I cannot use currently, Ether and Sprite for example.

Finally I can freely set Midi Program Changes per sequence/track, hold chords over sequence changes and have zero audio glitches on sequence change :worthy:

Ps. There is only one single annoyance that is a bit of a downer going to 2.15. The lack of Disk Streaming forces me to look into some Memory Management for this particular project. But that I can live with 100%.

And some thoughts after using MPC 2.15 a couple of days.

I truly enjoy the open nature of MPC 2. For example being able to change programs per track and per sequence is incredible. Being able to send program changes per track per sequence is also incredible. Individual time signatures from sequence to sequence, all these are unphantomable omissions missing in MPC 3.

That leaves me with some thoughts about WHY ON EARTH Akai did leave these crucial (for many of us) aspects out of the MPC 3 firmware?

Why did they need to reinvent the wheel when they already had something incredible!?

Why not simply redo the UI including the much better Mixer and Routing experience?
And a simple option to soft-lock a program to a track and a selection If one want this track/program combo to be Global, meaning that this track/program combo would be present on each sequence by default?

:hmmm:

I simply cannot grasp some of the extreme downgrades made in MPC 3 firmware.

And also I feel a bit sad for MPC Live 3 owners who cannot even experience the greatness of MPC 2 firmware :WTF:

Because Akai were listening to all the demands from the newer generation of users who wanted more DAW like features and disk streaming etc. Hence the move to a unified track system which is not compatible with the concept of having 'fluid' program assignments across different sequences.

I dont agree with the move, they should have kept the original MPC workflow and if that meant no disk streaming and no DAW Like workflow then so be it. It was certainly a bold move, I'm sure there is method in the madness, most likely driven by wanting to target the much larger market of DAW users who like the idea of 'working in the box' but who are not prepared to make any kind of compromises to achieve this. These guys are not interested in the legacy workflow and want a fully fledged DAW inside their 'box', even though it will always be clunky and compromised compared to working on a powerful computer running Ableton or Logic etc.

akai focused on simplifying things for the new gen of youtube producers/ gen z.

they have been dumbed down even more then previous generations, so akai chose to cater to lowest level of intelligence, and realised the flexibility offered by the traditional worfkow was to complex for them so they remove those features.

they could fix this by adding a legacy mode option into the menu to bring all these flexible features back but they have chosen not to, thus far.

Thanks for the background of what you believe is the reason for the radical move from Akai.

Seems highly risky though to totally alianate the users who have helped build the entire company's legacy. The users who has made it possible for them to have the status they have.
These are certainly not the Gen Z'ers or Youtube content chasers :hmmm:

Well I'm on 2.15 now and won't be going back after experiencing how good things can be.
I've even created a support ticket to request a full refund of all MPC 3 only plugins/content I've wasted money on. And being very vocal about the why in this ticket
