The fact that's the case on the Live3 tells me how little they put the unit through a proper test.

This all reminds me how horrible Akai really is. I think I may take a backseat on this one until someone reports back about it. 3.(whatever), USB Audio Out, a Touch Strip and New Pads addresses very little problems I had with the New Mpc's. In fact two of those create new problems. The OS is not good. The Pads... Meh honestly... Could care less. I think the only thing that I like there is the USB Audio Out, but that isn't enough.
With the New Mpc OS, the Mpc workflow is sorta dead. Like it's a sampler-like-daw, but I dont think it's worth dealing with Akai for another 5-10 years of weird updates(or lack there of) and just a stack of Vst's and Samplepacks to buy...

Anyways. My 2 Cents.
I'm just gonna sit back and hope it ends up dope.

This is one of those helmet kids with the velcro slip on shoes.. if not you need to be evaluated.. :smh:

I use the touch strip on Key61 alot, never a “scratched” problem.

I use the touch strip on Kronos2 alot, never a “scratched” problem

Not sure HOW others are using/abusing their touch strips but I’ve had Key61 since day one (I was there when the delivery truck showed up @ Guitar Center with the very first batch in my area and I purchased the first one that hit the inside floor) and I’ve never had issues.

99 problems but a touch strip aint 1.

I hope they put real 64 pads like if the 4 Force pads but closer together to make 1 MPCe pad if that make sense. I just don't want to lose the Force 4 banks at once feature. I still think a Force make sense for gen2, but even so, the X would come first.

terrible idea, I dont see them changing the pads on the new MPC X; expect it to be the same pads as the new live 3.

I am sure they will do a force 2

Terrible idea, how?
Just because you don't see them doing it. So, Akai is limited to Jpeg's imagination?
Did you see them making MPCe & the 64 pad sections?
They already made the Live3 with 64 pads sections, they're just tiny & less functional than bigger 64 pads that can be used more comfortably.
That's why I said Akai should make it like Force but without the empty space/plastic divider between them. So its basically a bigger version of the L3 MPCe pads, hopefully with the option to still used them as 64 independent pads so we can have access to 4 16 pad banks at once or stay in 16 pad mode.

I can most definitely see them keeping the X with its more traditional 16 pads like the L3 & the making a Force2 for those wanting to the best from 3.0. If you never worked with the Force who couldn't understand how much of improve having access to 64 pads are for sample chops, as 4 octave keyboard 8x8 clip-matrix that can quickly copy & delete clips from the pads.

The Force is still better designed for 3.0 than the L3, IMO. This new X will be big step up as it'll akai will kinda be forced into making more Force-like, where as the L3 they made more compromises due to lack of space the X & Force has.

I think the XL will have bigger normal size pads not the little ones on live 3 and have little ridges so you can feel the four corners better. Also, I think the new cheaper mpc will have only two sides of each pad up and down to save money on sensors. Just guessing but that is what I would do to differentiate the prices.

I don't have an X to compare but I thought the pads on the Live are full size and the same as on the X? The pads don't seem small at all to me. Do you have both to compare? I saw someone else make this claim but I am thinking the MPCe LEDs are giving the illusion of the pad surface being smaller.

Anyway, I would bet the new version of the X would have the exact same pads you see on the Live 3 (which are excellent and the very best MPC pads yet). Would not make sense to make them different from a cost/production standpoint.

The size of the non-MPCe pads doesn't make that much of a difference, but I would want more pad space for playing those 64 sections
& hopefully being able to use them for launching clips or play it as 64 key piano like the Force.

I think connecting 4 Force pads to make 1 MPCe pad would be a better alternative or just make the L3 pads bigger on the X2.

If they plan on making a new Force & or connecting the ACP to the MPC then it may not matter & they'll have it the same size as the L3.

PS
Just wanted to say, as a man, I never thought I would be so concerned about the quality of pads...

I would love the bang-for-the buck "my MPC One has Force envy" integration of an APC to the MPC, but the Jackson 5 covers will be insufferable.

"Force-envy" :lol:
I've been seeing this for years amongst MPC users, asking for stuff that's already on the Force. Now that all MPC can have the matrix the envy will only increase. Even now the Force is still the best device for 3.0.

If they connect it to the software it's a wrap. I probably still wouldn't use the PC software, but only in controller mode the Force would a beast. I think that's on the menu & this is Akai the Force isn't discontinued, but put on pause.

All Live’s and X’s have the same fullsize pads. Yall need to stop guessing and/or confusing each other with your “what if’s” and personal wants.

All Key’s and One’s have the same smaller pads.

New X most likely/logically wont have 64 ”pads”, it will most likely have the same pads and quadrants as Live 3.

Telling people to stop speculating about a new MPC on a site named MPC-FORUMS is pointless, but I respect your attempts.

If they made the pads bigger would it be a bad plus or minus?

It make sense to increase the pad size, now the it has MPCe pads & clips. I don’t think they'll do that if they're planing to make a new Force and or let the MPC connect to the APC or something new to accommodate 3.0.

Why you have a problem with members doing what people on gear forums have been doing since the beginning of time is strange, but luckily I don't care, nor should you care what members are guessing & wishing for on a thread about a new MPC, like if you gotta make it or spend money on its development.
