Akai MPC Live 3 -Seperate midi notes for the 4 quadrant pads

Hi all.
Happy new user of the Akai MPC Live 3 here.
Can anyon tell me if it is possible to edit the separate midi notes for the 4 quadrants in the grid editor or step sequencer?
In the grid editor I can only see 1 midi note per pad.

No, a pad can only have one MIDI note assigned. The different zones are triggered by proprietary MIDI events that reference x & y axis position

I bought the mpc bible and watched plenty of of video tutorials, along with checking the manual for the past month, until my head goes numb.
I found that I had to just start and get hands on in order to make the connections between things.
I keep getting vague memories from many years ago of someone showing me these things
