When u see the Live 3 in person u will like it; looks awesome in person, very functional with da extra buttons, awesome sounding speaker, the hardware design seems to work well with the 3.X software.

Given that the XL is due in Jan, when initially I was expecting they would anounce in April or May. So that makes it possible that the MPC One 2 may come later on in 2026.

Well it's not very intuitive though, is it? Maybe it's just me but when composing I'm not particularly fond of having my brain occupied with solving puzzles about things like which physical knob relates to which virtual knob on the screen. Especially if I didn't have to do that on previous models from the same brand.

I have a Live 1 and a Key 37. Both have 4 qlink knobs but I never use the touchscreen for that. I just toggle through each column. It's annoying, slow and not very elegant at all but it's still way better than using the touchscreen.

That's certainly one way of looking at it and I guess it's technically correct but it glosses over the fact that the physical 4x4 knob layout was sacrificed for a friggin step sequencer. Don't get me wrong, step sequencers can be useful but they're not exactly special or in any way or hard to come by. Practically every synth marketed as having a built in sequencer you can be sure it's the step kind. They're absolutely everywhere, probably included in corn flakes boxes and Akai shouldn't have compromised their flagship for premium physical control of yet another one.

I hope this is a joke.. well if it isn't I don't have to buy it.. so oh well

Good question. I just need a date. ANY new X I'm down to pay WHATEVER to get that new SOC and pluggins(I wish it to have CHORDimist or strum & spread chording like Arturia keyStep Mk2)

Uuh.. Yeah. That picture is definitely off. I believe this is what people are talking about as being real:

The original Facebook post for this image included a note saying it was "AI-upscaled."
At some point, only the image itself got reposted, and that ended up inviting speculation that it was AI-generated.
