Yes it does. 80% of the time I use it for pad and track volumes. Other times to record automations, etc.

It’s not as smooth as the touch strip on my old Triton Extreme and my current Kronos2 but still very useable.
On MPC you can hear the 8 tier stepping if you listen closely. On Korg it’s smooth as butter, no stepping at all.

Looks like it has everything the X had plus a front mounted USB which is a nice addition

I personally going to pass on this one. I hardly haven’t pushed the limits of the X SE yet, so besides of just buying it for just having it I don’t even have any reasons to jump on it immediately when it drops.

I also really dislike the placing of the Q-Links for all the previous mentioned reasons. I also agree that having the Q-Links left of the pads don’t correspond well with the layout of the mixer in OS 3.xx. That being said, I still prefer the new mixer over the old one. Just wished the UI of the mixer was designed differently to correspond better with the ‘traditional’ Q-Link lay-out. It’s definitely something I can live with, and if nearly 20 years of MPC and MPC Forums experience taught me is that THE perfect MPC doesn’t exist or ever will be realised.

saying you are gonna "pass" on looking at AI generated/enhanced images of a product you have not seen in person - nor have even read any official product info from the company, is silly.

Since the Live MK3 has been for sale for a while now we do know what the XL will be capable of under the hood. And of course we know it will offer more and better functions than the X SE of which I pointed out I haven’t reach it’s limits yet, so upgrading doesn’t make any sense in that regard.

But thanks for the applause.

Some are just not interested and are content with what they have.
Some are just not wanting/needing to add anything else to their stoo’s.

What's crazy is that there may be room for 16 q-links on the current Key61 if they slide all the buttons on the right side to where that big ass useless Akai log is.
THAT, is my biggest gripe with Key61, I'm spoiled on 16 q-links, 4 q-links just don't cut it, that constant switching of q-link banks is VERY annoying.

the design ugliness is starting to wear off, but that shiny black plastic at the top like to original X is not good for finger marks and smudges.

Rassline lol

I was gonna say the same thing!
Is this an AI photo or is that how you spell bassline in some other language?

Pretty sure the above photo is AI. It's missing all the stuff on front. The initial box photos are the real deal tho I believe. The XL looks like a beast to me and I'm ready. I wish they had added a crossfader, and I'm not crazy about the Two-Face color scheme, but maybe the real deal will look better once we get actual footage and photos.

I picked up a second novation launch control, I've assigned half a launch control (16 controls) to each operator (It's matrix assignment, modifiers and envelopes), 1 bank each on two launch controls really opens it up. I have a third bank dealing with the mixer, filter and 5th and 6th envelopes. That's not even covering it all, just the core sound. That's 72 controllers. The q-links aren't always mapped that logically to be working through them in groups of 4.
