exported .mid tracks hold no midi data???

So - I use a midi track to sequence lighting ques. I want to export the designed track into my DAW. I have followed the export track process, and MPC generates a .mid file. When opened in my DAW though - its blank, the midi notes are not there. I tried exporting to SD, then creating a new project in MPC and importing the file back - and its blank on MPC too. My take from this is the .mid file created/exported my MPC itself isnt correct?

any ideas here. If I cant get this to work ill have to redo ALL my lighting tracks...... and MPC would end up iun the bin and Ill buy a laptop and just use my DAW.

VERY Frustrating as I bought MPC One PURLY to sync lighting tracks to backing wav tracks. Was half the price of a suitable laptop hence going this route (and I prefer dedicated hardware most of the time). the extra outlay while annoying isnt massive But the TIME Ive out into designing the lighting tracks is massive....

a) What's your hardware?
b) What's your firmware version?
c) What's a simple workflow that people like me could try to either confirm what you're saying or suggest alternatives that might work? e.g. what type of MIDI events are you using?

Same problem here, both with MPC Live 3 or 3.7 software. Only export as "mpcpattern" seems to work but ufortunately there seems to be no way of exporting all patterns (events for all tracks) at once. The "save all clips"/pattern doesn't seem to write any data.

EDIT: "save all clips"/pattern function works in hardware (3.7) when using Base File Name: Track name and checking "edit arrangements as clips". You still have to re-import all these mpcpattern files one by one though.

open the mid file with notepad or a text editor and see if there is data in it.

Next compare the .mid to one that you know works on your daw side by side in two text editors.

There may be some element thats exported into the .mid that is causing it not to load. remove the extra elements save and try to load it.

Just ran into this issue myself. Exporting MIDI from my drum programs and dragging into Logic works no problem, but plugin instruments weren't working. The plugin MIDI files have nothing in them when opened in textedit, 39 bytes size.

Ended up doing this. For some reason this solution still didn't work for a bassline I was trying to get into Logic, which was the only thing I actually needed out of all this lol. All the other plugin instruments' MIDI files worked fine though.

What I ended up doing: duplicating the problem plugin track (with events), changing it to a drum track, and changing back to a plugin instrument (leaving it to the default plugin it loads), and deleting all MIDI automation parameters except Pitchbend on the duplicate. Then I did the save all clips as MIDI, and finally the bassline MIDI file I needed worked.

Not sure if changing the track type back and forth was necessary though, I'm guessing it was just the MIDI automation causing the problem
