The otherwise very nice Native Instruments Komplete Audio 6 Mk2 strangely doesn't have a manual from its manufacturer

I managed to rubber-duck debug anyway... The MPC's audio interface configuration must be set to "32 inputs/outputs" for the MPC to enumerate the SPDIF input (5/6) on the Native Instruments Komplete Audio 6 Mk2 !

I updated the MPC Audio Interface Compatibility Database wiki page.

I'm happy to now have an ultracheap fully digital path from Android to Komplete Audio 6 Mk2 connected to the MPC:
* USB-C hub,
* Behringer U-Control UCA222 (12€ - lol),
* TOSLINK cable, passing the stream at 48 KHz - Android's mandatory one & only sample rate,
* Behringer Ultramatch SRC2000 (60€ - loool !),
* SPDIF cable, passing a 44.1 KHz stream converted from 48 KHz by the SRC2000
* Komplete Audio 6 Mk2.

How are you using the UMC? Are you monitoring the connected devices with Audio Tracks set to "In"? Or are you monitoring the inputs directly with the Input/PB 12 knob in the center position?

I'm a bit bummed since I thought the UMC1820 would be a safe bet for pop/crackle free operation. But in my case I get the 'vinyl' pops/crackles on firmware 2.15... But I'm using 100% software monitoring, with 5 audio tracks set to "In" on my MPC Live Gen1 device.

This is with ram usage of 50% and CPU usage ranging between 20-30% only...

So an update to the above with my UMC1820.

I have now tested three different firmwares, 2.15.1, 2.13.0 and 2.11.9.33.
I have pops/crackles/vinyl glitch sounds on all three... :WTF:

Not all the time, but very noticeable and irregular. So currently this cannot be used for Live performances, which is what my intentions are...

Yeah, I'm really interested in giving Akai "Always almost there" Professional any more of my money...

I have 0 interest in MPC Live 3 unfortunately. Let alone sell the rest of my gear and look like a fool with one device sounding like a full orchestra on stage.

You all MPC Live 3 people be like :lol:

Jokes aside. Guaranteed that some MPC Live 3 users also will reach legendary status like the guy in the video.

But that is not what this thread is about.
I simply want my advertised class compliant audio interface working crackle free. Or was this never fully implemented?

Any insight in if the always almost there company has worked on improving class compliant support in MPC 3 firmware?

And when trying to read through as many pages of this topic as time allows, I've come to a realization.

When reporting an audio interface as working or not working in this topic, it should be mandatory for people to test if Monitor In is actually working pop/crackle free before posting.

Too late now, but this seems to be the main culprit for the pops/crackles.

My suspicion is that many in this thread has reported audio interfaces as working, but without trying to actually Monitor the in signal.

My UMC1820 seems to work just fine, but ONLY when not monitoring the actual Inputs. And that beats the whole purpose for me personally.

:lol:

Sorry, I think that to expect anyone testing should test the thing that tripped up your system is a bit tetchy. That's like saying, no one should say that it compatible unless they have tested every single function.

Glad you got it sorted and may have found an issue. I will keep an eye out for it. I haven't used mine for a while and since 2.something, but it was working fine and with 8 in via ADAT I do mean to get it fired up again at some point, so will give your issue a test

Just so I've got this right, you mean 'Monitor 1-2' works, or 'Monitor 1-8' works for you (Mines currently se to 'Monitor 1-8' but not sure if it's be accidently pressed in the past year.)

No, 100% Playback monitoring set on the UMC (so everything is run/managed thru the MPC).

Then add Audio Tracks for all UMC inputs and set these audio tracks Monitor option to In (not Auto or off).

Is that with Monitor 1-2 or 1-8 set?

Ah ok, I was looking for Monitor In on the UMC, but you mean the track setting.

Pretty sure I only used 'In', as I don't record my synths on audio tracks just use them to mix an run through effects.

Are you saying you work when the MPC tracks are set to IN only?

The monitor setting on the actual UMC can be set to whatever. It doesn't do anything when 100% playback monitoring thru the MPC.

Yes, I need to have all my Audio tracks (ins of the actual gear connected to my UMC) set to Monitor In to actually being able to hear all gear at all time.

I do not use the MPC to sample my gear almost at all...

Since the RME Digiface USB now have class compliant mode as per the january update.

Can anyone owning one test if it works pop/crackle free with Audio tracks set to Monitor In?
Not only for Playback of internal MPC tracks!

5+ stereo tracks would be great if you can test with the above criteria :smoker:

Ok, I have the LXR-02 going into the Inputs 1and 2 on the UMC1820, going to the MPC on an audio track set to Monitor In. No crackles.

2 Questions,

1. How frequent are your crackles?
2. Are any of your synths USB powered?
