Using MPC Live III as an audio interface

I understand that you can use the MPC Live III as an audio interface.

I currently also have a Focusrite scarlet audio interface that I have used in the past to record guitar into Logic. In an effort to declutter my desk though, I'm wondering if there are any downsides to just using the MPC as my audio interface instead for guitar recording / singing.

Basically I would be plugging mics and order the guitar into the MPC instead of the scarlet.

Prob switching live 3 on/off would do my head in whereas a dedicated audio interface i tend to always leave on. But you def could just use the MPC. Mine is used as an aggregate interface with my AudioFuse 16rig.

Ah good point, didn't consider the having to turn it on aspect.

Audio Device
The settings on this screen allow you to set up an external USB and Linux class-compliant audio interface for use with
MPC Live III. Audio devices must also be set to 44.1 kHz sample rate and 128 sample buffer size.
Note: If you are unsure of your audio interface’s compatibility, check with the original equipment manufacturer for
more information.
Audio Device: This determines whether you are using the Internal sound device, or a selected class-compliant
audio interface connected to MPC Live III.
32 Inputs/Outputs: Check this box to enable use of up to 32 simultaneous inputs and outputs.
Note: Increasing the number of simultaneous inputs and outputs will also increase CPU overhead.


You might later on want a device that does better than 44.1 khz.
