Iv just resurrected my MPC1000 after more than a decade broken , pad upgrade n all , Im on akai os 2.13 atm.
I wanted to run 2 elektron sequencers through it , a Machine Drum and a digitone keys and sequence whatever with the 3 sequencers. Whatever atm is a make noise 0coast, a soma pulsar 23 and an Erica synths Perkons. Im trying to debug this work flow for studio use , and hoping for practical reasons gig wise to record the midi from the elektron machines so as not to have to bring them to a gig , avoid kitchen sink syndrome.
This is all working well bar 1 very annoying problem , a note / channel on the Soma Pulsar, the snare keeps firing too long and or sticking on . It's not workable like this and I'm wondering if JJOS might sort it?
There doesn't seem to be a work around.
The 3 sequencers (2 elektrons into MPC1000) do make for a very awesome hands on interface and sequencing solution generally. And for gigs the MPC using sampled audio and Midi from the elektrons (and other bit in studio), with a Pulsar 23 and Perkons sequenced by the MPC, while also having their own sequencers (so like 3 decks) , is a serious rig fo a gig , no.
Has anyone worked with a system like this and have you ran into any problems. The MPC 1000 is the weak link, the note hang with the Soma Pulsar doesn't happen when it's not in the middle. I know the Pulsar can be temperamental midi wise but I suspect the mpc in this case.
This system would be very cool indeed if it can work properly so,
Is there a work around I'm not seeing , or can jjos sort this problem?
What with money being tight, I don't want to shell out for it if it won't.
Has anyone put a system like this together and has there been similar issues.
Anyways ,
Thanks :-D

im not entirely sure i understand the issue but you say the soma can be temperamental midi wise, my suggestion is to test with another instrument in the exact place of the soma midi chain wise so you can exclude it is a soma issue. if the problem is still there it might be an mpc issue, in that case please try to explain better the situation and i'll try to troubleshoot. anyway i'm on jjos2xl which of course brought tons of improvements, including various midi enhancements (multitimbrality, soft thru etc...) so if the issue is a limit on the mpc side there is a huge chance jjos2xl will solve it. anyway the 100 dollars for the license are the best money i ever spent in my life , or something like that, i cant imagine using my mpc 1000 with the original akai firmware. so much goodness in all areas , and if you perform with it as the center brain? the upgrade is a no brainer, even if only for the better sequence switching options (immediately play next seq is the holy grail for live sets)...

Thanks for taking the time to reply. Im gonna just get JJOS onto it , I think the what seems like proper midi filtering might do it . I believe elektron gear sends clock pulses all the time that confuses the midi learn in the the pulsar, and causes note hanging on certain channels. It doesn't happen if just the machine drum is sequencing it, but 2 machines into the mpc as is probably causes some sort of problem. I had gigs before Christmas and I was in a hurry, so I threw my hands up and thought leave it until now, wasn't a time to mess with workflow. I may bite the bullet on JJOS. It'll be well worth it if it all works.
Thanks for the help .
Good luck
