I would love to see Akai MPC have a feature like Atlas

I would love to see Akai MPC have a feature like Algonaut Atlas 2.... It is such a wonder piece of software, randomly generates drum kits, allows quick redo undo and changing of individual sounds etc. It is the best drum software that I have ever used and I am in love with it! Would love to see this work flow on an MPC

I understand what you saying. Just watched that YouTube link and can see great potential for this as a plugin. “Swipe the map and it automatically swipes samples across the pads” would be a huge selling point.

I have XLN's XO, which has the same approach to the Galaxy view. Also has a previous and next bar at the bottom of the screen. As well as finding similar sounds it does have me venturing further afield looking for happy accidents. Maybe the more grid style View of the Earth View would suit the MPC format more, with Q-Links assigned to horizonal and vertical scrolling.

I use XLN Audio XO, which is similar, and it also has an excellent workflow. If you keep a large collection of samples, it can generate virtually endless drum kits. Ableton clearly recognized how powerful this idea is and implemented Sound Similarity Search.

That said, doing this on an MPC in standalone mode would require heavy sample analysis and database building, which would put a significant load on the system and probably is not very realistic. It could be done on a computer instead, but even then, the overall experience would likely not be very smooth or satisfying.

The scan of content to map by type in XO is initially done on install. Then you manually scan should you make any major changes to you content. If this is done, when the MPC is not being used, then it could be fine. It may take a bit of time, and maybe it could be set to work on re-start option, so it only focus on that task. before loading the operating system

The Gen2 MPC's should be able to handle it just fine.

They could add the option to the Pro Pack , gradually making it seem worthwhile

The Pro Pack is so wack! They should break it up. My Force already has half of it but I still gotta pay full price. The Super Warp seems nice tho.

I hadn't thought of it from the force user perspective, but yeah it should be a better price for you.

I haven't gone for the $99 deal yet, it's more because they sell it through AKAI and not InMusic, so I pay a tax, and can't pick it up from places like PlugInBoutique. Though there is often a code that cancels out the tax. $199 seems way over the top for what many think, especially with the functional part, should be part on the MPC firmware anyway. I would defiantly get the reverb though, but I don't care about the EQ, though I'd wait for $29.99.

But yeah I think they should break it up, but I can also see those that bought it being annoyed if the parts they wanted became available cheaper. So in a way, adding more functions to it for legacy users to keep up with Gen 2 may make it a more attractive, but still leave a bad taste in the mouth.

They can break it up without making each part cheaper. If anything can make each part cost more, so that the pro pack is the cheaper deal. Since I wouldn't have to pay for Clips & the Force macros, it would be cheaper for me & other Force users.

Maybe they plan on adding new things to the Pro Pack as time goes on, but you gotta have this whole thing first as there will probably be other gen2 feature that will been made, even in a reduces form, for gen1.
