dem vids dont count; its all bout Andy Mac demos, but this MPC does not look good, at least the Live 3 looked better as we saw more of it, but this one is not becoming more easy on the eye.

I don't agree.. I looks marvelous to me..!!
In the leaked pictures the unit looked grey or even white but it still has the retro color scheme as the X SE.

I'll say it again I hate the qlinks. But all the buttons for less menu diving is why I bought the X in the first place.. I will wait until new plugin and effects come out I dont need it just want it .. looks great I not a fan of the qlinks but most workstations are going in thos direction.. the beefy processor and ram is by far enough to be a standalone unit.. great job akai!!

the looks of equipment is key, as the more enticing a device visually the more inspiring it is to use.

there was a reason why the X SE was so popular, it was based off how it looks

I.will agree when the X came out now liked the look Black with red end caps.. I bought it because I wanted another flagship that was current.. when SE came kit I didn't see the need to buy just for 2 extra GB of ram.. Now the XL with the classic 3k look and beefy processor and ram you have to buy it. Less menu diving and button for everything.. I think I can start my car :-D :-D .. 6 to 8 months purchase for me .. going to wait until there more plugins ..

i hear you.. im old school beige akai FO life foo! the XL is the next step. i do wonder if inmusic will make an SE or retro style of this...

i like the color scheme - it fits well. the one to one buttons and the CHOP button (!!!!!) really make the X the cat's pajamas!
thanks for the loop pop or whatever his name is… now i see the massive size of the XL....
