It completes my short comings :-D
I haven't even unboxed yet dreading seeing the qlinks :-D i was hoping they had one on display at guitar center to talk me out of buying it..
I'll say it again the live 3 looks nicd I like the pads screen was small rubber buttons I like alot. Although a real flagship needed the hard coated plastic buttons

I thought the live3 looked way worse in person when I messed with it at GC. First time ever on an mpc that didn’t feel like an mpc. I also am not very fluent with the new OS though but the hardware just felt weird and cheap to me

It IS sometimes hard to let go of things that work well for you.
1. Don’t let go and miss out some new stuff that you might really like.
2. Move on AND keep your old gear too.
3. Toss it all and move on, don’t look back.

Holding on to OG X, I”m still attached to the old q-link placement for now.
EVERYTHING ELSE tho, damn, options and features out the yang on XL.
“Preferences” even looks packed with new options.

I’m comfortably @ 2.

I’ve got serious problem. Got a live 2 se, X SE, Live 3, and the XL being delivered today. Can’t be bothered to let any go.

It reminded me of the key 61 when I first saw it at GC it looks nice I didn't like the qlinks on the same side as the volume and it was tough to navigate around from using the X. I however think its a travel powerful production box.. the screen was to small and folders icons were to small for me tho..

lol! you guys are being very good sports about that comment. I get it though its nice to have brand new things. especially if its something you are passionate about. I'd buy a brand new motorcycle every year if I could afford it. I hope you guys are having a blast.

i'll admit it im financially in no place to upgrade anything. in fact im selling a lot of my stuff off just to survive these days. i may be mildly jealous watching everyone move on while i drowned in debt.

My govt moves people in and forces us to pay the wage subsidies in taxes until the point canadians are tapped out then when we cant give anymore from working they leverage all our assets. (which is where i am at now, being stripped of my belongings) soon i will be forced from my home so a new-commer can be sold my home. I am very bitter these days..

There's no rule that says you have to. Do what you want!

the MPCe pads alone are worth the purchase for the new units. If you can't see the potential then you probably are still using the new MPCs the same way you used the 60,3000,2000 etc.

that said akai still needs to implement a lot for MPCe midi and CV tracks. as soon as they make the mod matrix the same or better than drum tracks mod matrix, game over.

MPC XL is the shit, but now I have like 8 mpc lives/keys/2/X that are useless.

One of the many reasons I purchaes the XL. Not only with a beefed up processor and memory MPE takes the MPC in whole different direction..

Yea I just really hope that they implement a lot of CV and midi control for those tracks. you could do so much with external hardware if they do. hopefully someone at akai sees the potential to do the same with CV and Midi tracks as they are doing with the drum tracks. pretty sure it would make the mpc the standard go to sequencer/pad control for eurorack and other hardware.

MPCe pads works for midi after 3.7. It's just that you have to use a drum track and then send to a midi track. Then you get all the expressive goodness.

Edit: I just checked and it works for CV out as well.
