Constant Midi clock work around

Hey everyone,

I'm new 1k owner, and I just found the first thing about it I'm not jazzed about, the lack of constant midi clock when no sequence is playing.
Coming from a yamaha qy700, this is a hurdle I wasn't expecting. It's most pronounced with arpeggiated patches on my prophet 12, as it's clock sync is internal, external, or off, no auto. My DD500 could also benefit from a constant clock.
It's really only an issue when auditioning patches, and can be worked around by running a blank sequence, but I'm curious about the methods of others in here.

I don't need to be told my workflow is wack. Sometimes it is, most times it isn't.

Prophet 12 -slave
Microkorg - slave
MS2000- slave
Model D - slave
Jx-8p - slave
Td-303 - slave
DD500 -slave

Hey I've been looking for info on the same issue over here- I use my MPC with the EHX loopers and was hoping that upgrading to the latest model would fix the tempo sync issues I've experienced when stopping and restarting loops using the MPC as master clock. Sadly, the newer 95000 looper still works the same as the older models in that regard, and functions best with constant MIDI clock output.

I did find the following info from AKAI for the MPC Standalone:

1. On the MPC, go to Menu > Preferences > MIDI/SYNC tab and set Sync Receive to MIDI Clock. If you also want your DAW to start playing when you press the MPC's play button, set Sync Send to MIDI Clock. 2. In your DAW, configure your project to send MIDI Clock through the 5-Pin to USB interface.

However, it's unclear if this applies to sending continuous MIDI clock, and I believe I've tried equivalent steps on the MPC 1000 with no luck.

Lately, I've been looking into an external MIDI master clock unit since I've been unsuccessful finding any info on sending constant MIDI clock output on the MPC 1000 over the past 6+ months. I did find one unit called the e-RM Midiclock that specifies in the manual "The MIDI clock command (0xF8) is always being sent when a power supply is connected."

If I end up getting one of these units (or something similar) I'll let you know if it helps things out... good luck in the meantime!
