Not sure if I'm misunderstanding the question, but it sounds like you are describing an Audio Interface, that will give you multiple ins and outs. If so, for the desktop there are many, but for the standalone there are not, and you need to be more selective.

Yes, I'm using my Universal Apollo 8 Audio interface. My goal is to also use my outboard gear such as my analog filters, preamps, exciters, EQ, and multi-effects processors.

As inserts, no. As sends yes.

Every plugin/drum/audio/bus track can be routed to a different hardware output. You can send them to an out channel (instead of the master) and route them back into one of the 8 audio tracks (16 if you have a gen2 device).
