doubt it.

so, MPC 3.x is 'in the works' since years now and MPC2.x was never finished.

Stuff that was advertised doesn't work even after years of development.

I just tried to export in 2x from song mode to sequence, to be able to record a midi track in one go.
Seems traight foward, but,
of course, this feature doesnt work, and the drum tracks are transposed by the sequence transpose,
which makes it half way useless.

I am done with that company. :fku:

Well, first software development never ends it is constant. Next the MPC is a very capable machine and does far more than most machines. It can`t be expected to do everything perfectly. But that said if you are done move on.

With all the problems you're having I'd say move to something else that suites you, that's less of a struggle. I don't see a way thru for you to be satisfied.

Lol, well, I anticipated this kind of comments.
Probably more to come.

Let me add, for your entertainment, I had been in audio software development myself for 20 years or so...

And I also do know that most MPC owners do not use these boxes to make any music, they just own to own, a fashion item.
Well, I am not one of them.

For those who cant read, my question was: do you think we'll ever see a working OS in the not so new Akais?
Working means, features are not broken or advertised but not implemented.

I, for one, doubt that. You?

I do this literally every day on 2.15. Works perfectly :hmmm:

This I have to agree with

Can’t tell you how many people I’ve met and visited their “studio” to just sit there and hear about how they were going to be the next big thing because they just bought the newest mpc, sampler, etc but when we suggested we make something it turned into “I’m too high” or “my girls coming over”

For me, I wasn’t being facetious, just realistic. It’s not working for you, what else are you gonna do? Your history doesn’t factor in, what matters is, it’s obviously not what you want and/or expect, you’re not happy with it. Buy another car to get you where you wanna go.
By moonlake Sat Feb 07, 2026 10:54 pm
Never cursed at your car when it broke down just the wrong moment?
And then you fixed it nevertheless?

I agree, the other bs I mentioned does have nothing to do with anything.

I was just upset for the moment. UPSET.

but now Ive exported the track and I am all happy again.

Recording Pianoteq on a Raspberry on the MPC ist just pretty cool ( to me, at the moment),
pretty much the studio on your desk they promised.

But I am also dissapointed by Akai that they abondoned v2...

You've been doing this for 20 years & yet you're asking if an OS on a modern device with all their layers of complexities will ever be bug free. Most things will have bugs & other general shortcomings. The main thing to ask is will any of stop you from using it if you can't find a workaround?

This question doesn't seem like a serious question from a 20 year vet, but I get the frustration.

We can't answer your qusetion but, hopefully you're send bug reports & feature request to Akai:

Thanks for the links, but does it make sense to report any 2.15 issues now?

One thing that makes me upset is, that I suspect management decisions for things not being fixed.

Usually, you have bugs or feature requests that are either hard or impossible to fix, cause the basic architecture gets in the way, and those who are rather easy to fix or add.
And due to the very slow development, I assume its mostly management that gets in the way, unless its something that can not be changed easily. If that is the case you can comminicate it as unlikely to be fixed.

Completely understand.

I’ve never made music on my Raspberry Pi 3, 4 or 5. Lemme go look that up. I still won’t seriously make music on it, nothing is stopping me from exploring. Usually old game emulators is what I’m after for Pi’s.

I was speaking more in general, not just for v2. That seems kinda over currently but, that could just be because Akai is working on v3 & still has the desktop in beta. Maybe aftter that's more stable (not perfect/bug free) they can spend time on making v2 pro-pack or whatever, but if you may just have to deal with it never being updated again & move on.
