I kind of feel that way about Sprite, but Ether is based around a shimmer reverb, which puts a pitch and modulation into the feedback loop of the reverb, rather than one effect after another. It's comparable with Valhalla Shimmer and Eventides black hole in that way, and then it puts a but other interesting tricks onto that base.
If you like a reverb to big and special and spacious, or for it to make pad sounds, it could be a cool addition. I keep looking at it and thinking about it, but I like the idea more than thinking it's something I would actually use. For some reason I never demo, but I think at some point I should with Ether.
