Dear all,
how concrete are these news ? Are there any official news that confirm a new production of an mpc key ?

Please share your opinions.

Take care,

According to one of the Facebook hacking groups, product codes for a new MPC One, Key 61 and key 37 are apparently already listed within the firmware code, but this doesn't always mean they are close to release (a 'Force 6' model was listed many years ago and hasn't appeared yet).

There is never any official news until the day they release these things. until then it's rumour, FCC test reports, 'accidental' retailer leaks or random box photos from a Sweetwater stock cupboard.

Have to assume that they will have gen2 versions for at least the One and key 37. Not sure how successful the 61 was, seems like it's been unavailable 'new' for a couple of years now?

Many more people seems to like the 37. The 61 doesn't seem to be as successful & I think it was due to the price, lack of a tilt screen & only 4 Qlinks on a unit of that size (8 would been better. The extra RAM is nice but, I would still feel like they cheaped out too much & maybe they just did it to test the market for an MPC with keys. They better go all out for the gen2!

just keep an eye on the below and lookout for any product codes that contain AVC

https://fcc.report/company/Inmusic-Brands-Inc

until something appears on that FCC site its all blind speculation, however I suspect we will see the next gen mpc one in the 2nd half of this year, based on the release order of the gen 1 hardware and given Akai has relased 2 MPC products in one calendar year in the past.

I think the new MPC Key products wont come until 2027, but thats enuff blind speculation from me.

I messed around and mocked up a MPC Keys49 line drawing. In the 32" x 16" chassis it fits the screen, pads, and Q-Links with displays from the XL. There are gain controls and meters at the upper right, transport controls above keyboard on the right, screen buttons right of the tilt screen, pad controls next to the pad, mod wheels left of keyboard, and mod strips left of the pads.

This would be a fun setup I think.

(hoping that my image upload works, or else this post is a waste)

The new Fabric based synth series makes much more sense with a keyboard.

An MPC Key with a tilted screen and as many Q knobs as an XL would be quite a beast.

After other gear in the past as primarily an alternative/synth/pop guy, I got a 37 as my first Akai and liked it so much I added a Force. The 8 Q links with OLED makes the 37 seem like a toy in comparison.

My k37 with 2g ram and only dual core cpu is not a fan of heavy key groups or the NI plugs so a beefier brain would be nice and maybe get me to upgrade. Also Fly Tape sometimes doesn’t work and I suspect more power might help.
