Akai mpc live 3 early thought

I bought for the usb c tracking intonmy daw with additional 32 midi channels.. that alone is worth it.

Co sign audio and midi over usb c is one of the features I always wanted working with my soft synths, plugin effects and daws all in standalone without having to use controller mode. Only a few cats are using the mpce pads but it is going to take a minute to adjust to the full potential of the upgrade. And with 3.7 you have the pad presets to set up the mpce on a per pad basis. I upgraded my Mpc live 1 and analog rhythm mk1 also for the step sequencer. Just using the timing correct function makes it easier for me to program using the live 3 cuz 1/8 equals 2 bars on one page unlike other sequencer with 1/16 as standard. It does that some relearning as the workflow is similar but different but I like it cuz it gives me more tools. Mod matrix is expanded since 3,4 I think as I still have a use my Mpc X mk1 until I eventually move up to and XL when I have the budget lol. But the usbc plus the step sequencer were the deciding factors for me. USB C even means my Mpc live 3 can be my sound card for my laptop if I work outside my studio with daws of choice.

I predict in the next five years or more most new gears will have the usbc or equivalent to replace the midi ports and audio I/0 we have on gen 1 and older gear.

My fav feature on the live 3 is faster loading and better stem separation.... But as I said, it's not worth the premium paid in my eyes. I'll keep it, because the platform will improve, just like they did with the first gen products.

Akai has to come out with unique content that makes the second gen products worth by utilizing the newer features. Hopefully they give us free content like the older times...

Like any MPC purchase you ask yourself why and what are the reasons to buy it... that to me is the premium purchase answer..

.... I bought mpc live in 2017... And I was so impressed at the development of the product and the free updates - Akai gained alot of goodwill with me, even with all of the issues. The og live is a phenomenal product (even with its issues) compared to what we got when released. So my live 3 is somewhat based on that goodwill..a bit of a thank you to akai... And perhaps they keep up their legacy of keeping owners happy (although it does seem like they moved on from that free updates/plugins model)... We shall see how live 3 develops.

Yeah, Akai has been on roll, even with all its issues. The still have given out free plugins like the Multiband Filter last year & more recently the Tape Double Track, you just had to sign up for them. As gen² developes I'm sure there will be more freebies.

Even if they don't, that's cool if they stop with all these fake sales & keep the prices reasonable. Once they start charging for OS features that should be included is where I draw the line.

Konnekte die Geräte über USB A aber der akai erkennt den midi Kontroller nicht.

I believe most of us understand English

Usb c audio and much better performance is the highlight for me. Then the far better workflow with the step buttons. Its quite a big hardware and workflow improvement tbh. The workflow for me now feels closer to the MPC 4k which had a button for most things. Prob better on L3 for infinite reasons.

Old modern MPCs are def a bargain atm for their capabilities. But L3 has been my perfect music making tool.
