According to people on Reddit (r/mpcusers), Akai has dropped iLok and is using its own activation system now; if you contact them they will provide new codes.

That seems to fit but it's kind of unbelievable, that they would do this without even an email to customers.

If you look through years of mpc posts and threads, you’ll see plenty of us stress the importance of “reset preferences” as a troubleshooting step..

But, the whole plug-in activation system NEEDS revamping cause this type shyt happens for no reason sometimes..

I remember and it is sort of a last resort type shyt thing. but there's a lot of new users with gen 2 who were stuck and it deserved a mention here.

you're right about some revamping, I didn't love the whole INMUSIC transfer but it seemed to be getting better. I think they'll figure it out and we're going to have some (hopefully minor) hiccups like this as it evolves.

was thinking if there was someone who had a gig yesterday and they get all set up and turn on their MPC and are missing most of their plug ins and don't know how to quick fix it. the horror. fix this stuff akai. love the product.

and for the love of workflow and creativity BRING BACK PROGRAMS

It doesnt happen for no reason, your plugin validations have a signing window. like a ssl certificate, when the system date passes said time it invalidates them and you have to go back and revalidate them..

Akai sets the date and time its why all your periods are in sync.

Your system doesnt need to be online because the date and time are in the encrypted file that handles your plugin validations along with your user info and some other crap. a motivated person could probably find their crypto prototypes in the executable and intercept it and kick the crap outta their security.

I don't understand why they removed PROGRAMS in the 1st place :Sigh:

They Didn't remove it. They just changed how Programs interact with tracks. Then they Renamed it to Track Edit

They shouldn't have messed with it in the 1st place.

I like the way they do it now, but would like for them to offer both methods or let each clip (not just the track) do MIDI Send to another track.
