Is is possible to assign an external controller to be the q-links? I can't see it in Midi learn as an option, so I am guessing I can't.

2 reasons - My One only has 4 q-links at one time, and a controller would give me 16 at a time
2 of my q-links need replacing, and getting them repaired is months away.

Apparently they seem to be the same encoders that the denon mixer uses. Part number - VRR25201502

Not possible with the official OS in standalone mode.

"You people..."

Channel 1 controls transport controls so ideally you map your cc's to the qlinks in the .xmm or if you own a good controller on the device and set your controller to channel 1. then enable "control" in settings > midi.

If you want to manage the drums, you do that on channel 9, your keybed goes on channel 7.

You can make a .xmm, upload it to the device, from a usb card copy it to internal to the midi mapping folder.

Plug your controller in hit new project and then go to settings > midi and enable "control" for transports on channel 1. channels 9 / 7 interact with the drum and key programs when "track" is enabled. Even my microkorg will do it.

some controllers handle more than one channel.

Now go my son, be with god. you are healed.

Not Healed, just more confused.

I have two Novation Launch Controls. I have them assigned to about 200 controls in the MPC, across 6 midi channels.

I'm not trying to assign it to anything drum program or anything specific, apart from the q links. So whatever the q-links are controlling on what ever page I am on, instead of touch the MPC, I can use the Launch Control instead.

16 launch control knobs assigned to the 16 MPC q-links. Although really it's just q-link 1 and 2 that I can't touch on my MPC, so they are unusable.

I can see xmm files under [User]MPC Documents/Midi Learn. But I can't see how to move these to the SD, or how these can be the midi learn file in my template as they are saved with the project.

I create a midi learn template on desktop , then I copy it to the midi learn folder you describe I have ssh enabled so I can access the
File system. Then I delete all the unwanted templates . Then you have to modify a couple of lines in the Mpc.settings file that enable midi learn and point to the file you’ve copied over.

What's ssh enabled?

Yea Mpc beats or the desktop software.
I have the Hakai firmware installed (thanks ultros) that is ssh enabled . Just released 3.7 version .
With the normal firmware you can’t see the internal file system using
e.g. win scp because ssh is disabled . Enable it and voila .

So I need to use the Hakai to access the file. Thanks. I'll have to think about this for a bit.

Akai gave me a supplier to get the parts, but they haven't been responsive, but then again it's new years here.

So, I *think* this works. I just tried it on my Live 3 and Novation Control (newer model). I set up a "project" QLInk which controls flanger on and bass kill (the kill EQ) simultaneously.

- MIDI Prefs, Launch Control - toggle on the "control" button.
- MIDI Learn, "+" button, "learn," twiddle the Qlink, then twiddle the launch control.

Now one of my LC knobs controls the Qlink parameters.

I swear to god I was trying to do this weeks ago with no success. OS 3.7

Yeah, I use that function extensively. The Launch Control is controlling what the Q-Link also controls. I want to control the q-link itself. So assign to the 4 (or 16) q-links once and then so whatever is on the screen gets controlled with the Launch control.

Oh, I think I totally misunderstood - sorry about that. So, basically the launch control is a total one to one replication of the qlinks - whether you're in screen, project, whatever qlink mode the external control will step up to the task?

That's why a cc would fit the bill perfectly, damnit. I'll step back into the shadows at let these smart fellas dish out their wisdom!

I have already thousand files there. Like "NI Komplete Kontrol S49 MK1 Copy(998)" (sic!)

Some of the devices I don't even own. I have no idea why eg there is a "Ableton Push Copy" there.

Can I get rid of all these files?

This is a known bug, really long term bug. I assume they had fixed it. You can safely delete all of them.
