Are you using the many new features of the unit?
Does it feel like it makes your work/cooking/playing easier, or is it just a distraction?
Do you get the impression that the pads might break down faster because of their many sensors?

no.
ive had the live3 since October and pads are still fresh. solid build quality. also using the XL since january and same experience.

im not using a lot of the 16 step buttons, but i appreciate the extra dedicated buttons, especially on the XL.

abso-smurfly zero distraction.

It is night and day. Doing performance fx is so much easier. I never used keygroups because of the slow loading times and the large memory costs. Now using key groups are actually fun. And I'm not sacrificing half of my memory to do so. I am not worrying about running out of plugin spots. Gen 2 is leaps and bounds better than GEN 1. Gen 1 was severely underpowered for what it could do. Gen 2 has more than enough power to do it all.

Everything they said ^ there. The pad functions alone are worth the upgrade especially when dealing with samples, I just wish they would bring over all the functionality over to midi and cv.

The amount of things you can do with MPCe pads and parameters, etc really makes this machine great. You can get lost in making your own tracks and sounds, etc.

I can’t wait for the mpce stuff to work with keygroups and plug ins. That will really be huge for me.
