Historically Alto has leaked the live 3 and took preorders for it. They didn’t leak the XL, that was an English and German retailer. We are getting the big arch burger at McDonalds and MPC Sample at Alto.

It looks too much like a toy. Part of what makes the niche small sampler market successful is being able to create a small piece of hardware that feels and looks like it belongs in a serious studio session. Its a very difficult design needle to thread. This looks too much like a "miniature" knockoff version of older MPCs instead of a small pocket sized serious sampler that utilizes every inch of the hardware for real creative purposes. Putting a gimmicky wrist pad on it instead of additional tactile buttons etc tells you that they dont understand what makes these type of units attractive.

If this is real, which it looks like it is, it will be a huge failure in my opinion. Essentially a $400 mpc "figuring'

It would be good if Akai actually finished things in the existing MPC line before dropping totally new systems...

The useless, endless "beta" of the desktop software is beyond a joke...

BTW.
If this doesnt have the old mpc "workflow" (programs/tracks/sequence/song) they lost their god damn minds!!! lol

looks like a "enlighted" renaissance

This is a breath of fresh air. I stopped using MPCs when they went for touch screen. I really liked the Renaissance and was hoping for a simple portable stand alone version of it. Let's hope it will be here soon!
