As an avid MPC500 user I really got my eye on this one. Though the armrest looks like a waste of real estate imo. Could live without the speaker as well, really wondering what the sound quality will be of that speaker on such a small device.

From studying the pictures it looks like the Sample won’t have a classic Program Edit feature, and makes me feel the sequencer will also be very stripped down to a maybe 1 track sequencer similar to the 404/P6. Also interested to see how projects will translate over to the bigger machines. Anyway, still enough questions I would love to see answered as we get closer to a release date.

It has song mode so that gives me hope it will have the classic prog/track/seq workflow. But concerning that there’s no sign of a program or tracks.

If they made it like the 404 in that regards they are missing the point.

Yeah, I’d stay away from going that route.

We did, mpc 500.

Yup. I said the same thing a couple post back. The 500 was classic Mini OG
But IMO, the 1k w JJ was as small as it can get & still give me all the cool things that the 2500 had. I also didn't like the 500 12 pads as it threw off the way I made programs on the 1k/2500.

was counting/hoping on this too

traks (button) missing is ok since it has sequence (right?), but program (button/shortcut) is a must
(for all people still on 2.14 :smh: )

'93? Wow! It is truly some vets on this site. In '93, I was 7 years old. I just turned 40 a few months back. Time flies.

I didn't gain access to an MPC until 2005 (if I recall correctly), which was an MPC 1000 (the blue and red one), but that was short-lived because it belonged to my bro-in-law, and when my sister got upset with him about something, she smashed the MPC into tiny pieces in the middle of the street. Grand entrance, grand exit :Sigh:

That's when I was introduced to FL Studio - used it until the MPC One+ dropped, which reminded me of the 1000, so I purchased the One+, and then I made my way back to the MPC world. The Live III was my latest purchase but I still have the One+ (running 2.15 :worthy: ).

I hope you and your sister made up since then : :WTF: :WTF: :WTF: .. I was riding my bike in downtown Boston as a kid and somehow met up with older college students who made music and one of the kids had a MPC 60 . Of course I couldn’t touch it and wanted one .. I bought a dr 550 drum maschine and a Gemini sampler starting out.. the other gear.. made beat tapes and sold them in the source magazine :-D :-D. Had enough to buy the MPC3000.. the Live 3 is dope i was tempted to get instead of the XL.. I hear this alot why do you like the old mpc 2 firmware.. I was happy to get away from that work flow..

I don’t think there will be any compatibility with 2.x or 3.x. My guess is this will be completely independent and live on its own as an option for people who want the classic workflow (programs/tracks/seq/song)
