I have been using my Live 2 on its own as a ideation tool for a while, now I am trying to integrate it into my slightly old school studio set up, but having issues with usb. I want to use it just a drum machine/sampler/synth, and control everything from my DAW.

I use Ableton Live on my Macbook, with an Arturia Minifuse 2 Interface. This connects fine with my other synths and the Live 2 using midi. I can also connect my other synths to my DAW using USB through the Minifuse.

However, whenever I plug the Live 2 into either the Macbook directly in the USB port, or into the Minfuse using the supplied USB cable I get nothing.

Can anyone suggest where I can get help? My Macbook is pretty old, could this be the problem?

There may be software drivers for mac that you need to install.
Are you in controller mode?
What Mac Version?
What MPC firmware version?
What version of MPC Software?

Hmmmm, almost sounds like the cable is at fault if using it to hook up the mac to the Live or the interface to the Live doesn't work?

I had a similar prob a couple of weeks ago (I also have a MiniFuse). I got a new usb a to c from amazon, but had to make sure it transferred data not just charge.

(Anker USB C to USB A 2.0 Series 3)

Might not be it since you're using your original cable...
