I’m assuming the “vintage workflow” means programs/tracjs/seq. Not the limitations of old tech

I would buy a cheap 12 bit modern sampler without even having to think.

I was looking hard at the lofi 12xt. That thing looks fun but ultimately the knobs and pads kept me from getting it at that price.

I doubt the Sample will be 12 bit but that would be dope

Menco wrote:I take “vintage workflow” with a grain of salt. I agree with what Certified Beatz said, most people would not have the patience to handle a “vintage workflow”. No dedicated chop function, no visual wave form and only 1 program per sequence (60/3000). Time will tell how “vintage” the workflow will be, and whether the things I speculated will hold any truth or not.

Exactly. The only vintage thing from the 60/3k most would want is the color.

Even if it was 12bit that would do much to sound. Having a lower sample rate would would make it sound nasty. 12 bit with 44.1khz would still sound clean but just have a lower headroom limit so it distorts at a lower volume & higher noise floor & that's a maybe as technology improved so much since 12 bit tech back in the late 80s & mid 90s. It'd be funny if the sound is just the current MPC 60 vintage mode that can't turn on or off  I hope at least have the current filters where the 60 didn't have any.

That would be nice this gonna be a homerun..

I was jokin’, irt when Akai long ago touted real 3000 filters and it turned out to be an emulation.

Besides, whatever efx are “missing” can be added with outboard gear, wasn’t that part of the vintage “workflow” too, not having enough, less is more, that crowd is the target maybe.

Idk.

Ive known the dude for awhile even rocked some shows with him so I trust him

Did he said if they already had them in stores waiting for release day?

I’m pretty sure he said they were in inventory already

Again, I’m assuming they are describing the non 3.x workflow

I'm ready to see it in action. I recently thought about acquiring an MPC Studio 2 for when I want to make sample-based beats on the computer, but then this came along. I'll probably still end up getting the MPC Studio 2 over this, though.

For the first time in history, i am actually hoping this is a real leak.

I really hope it is all sample based too. no goofy midi stuff beyond sequencing. It would be so exciting to play with an actual SAMPLER again. A real hardware sampler you/i/we can just rock out on.

I would happy pay its canadian ransom.

It's real. Akai (and Andy Mac) already posted it on their IG.

There is definitely A to probably G led’s to the right of the main volume. Tracks maybe?
Although there’s no other suggestion there’s more than one track . So it’s probably bank LEDs
So any suggestion that it’s Mpc 60 ish is just bullshit , more like Mpc 6
