akai defo took heed to the k02 EP-133 success; presumably thats what caused them to scrap the mpc live mini plans.
Assuming the live mini rumours had any truth, we may never know but i recall the dude who started the rumour saying the protoype he saw was also completely different OS as per the mpc-sample.

JD's little baby hand isn't good for size scale accuracy.

Let's not go there with the mini rumor. I think it’s more believable they waited to let the other tiny device show their pros & cons & then make something that could out perform all of them, but who knows. I think this new little mpc will make many want a MPC One with a battery.

I’m convinced only about 5% of 404 owners actually make music with them and the rest just have it because they think it makes them look cool. Making beats on the 404 can be fun but it’s tedious and I’m not convinced that the younger generation has the patience to use it to its full potential.

The Sample will be the same

Never used one but all I see them do is twist a knob or 2 :-D :-D .. most dont have the attention span now to sit in from of a MPC for 40 mins tweaking a sample cutting and trim then trying to chop and copy then fit the sample in 4 or 8 bar sequence tap tempo to fit..

YUP. And they are even targeting "entry level" and "beginner"

I was completely wrong about it. Think they missed a huge opportunity to make a classic. Im really bummed because I cant stand 3.x but really enjoy the modern features.
Gonna pick up the Lofi xt and see if I can get use to the small pads and replace the micro knobs

The MPC60 only have 1 program per project & you don't get more classic than that
I'd say wait until we know more about how the sequencer before casting it aside. I said on another site that we should wait until we know what the "GTFOH" features are & now this.
