Anybody have an MPC Sample yet?

Looks pretty sick, packed with features, but is it another machine that your songs will get stuck in? Can you mix the tracks inside the unit or is there a way to export stems,etc?

AFAIK there is only a single track, that's based on what Looppop showed when importing the MPC Sample project into the MPC Software. One track, multiple sequences, support for drum tracks only. From what I see it will almost certainly not support 90% of standard MPC3 drum track features, but difficult to see from the demo, need to check it out when it arrives tomorrow.

Hoping for a bit more clarity as the day goes by on the limitations and compatibilities between MPC projects and the Sample. Are legacy .xpj's loadable?

Idk, but from what I've seen so far, id be happy with its current features and future updates concentrating on sequencing/tracks/launching type stuff. maybe doing things with the tracks/pads that the other MPCs can't do but that makes this little thing unique. that said I'm not really looking at this thing being anything more than a sampler and midi seq as far as the instruments/tracks side is concerned

And I suspect there will be a lot on reverb and eBay within a month So anybody thinking about getting one I’d hold off so you can scoop one up for a couple bills

How big are the pads? Are they smaller than the MPC One pads? Can you give me the exact dimensions?

I honestly didn't think anyone would buy this, but every place I normally go to sold out by 9:30am. had to go to GC and they were all sold out about a minute after I got mine. I guess the sub $500 gear still sells like hot cakes.

that's said, I think this thing is super dope for what it is. super intuitive. If you really want to have some fun with this thing you will need to create your own samples neatly labeled by key, bpm, etc.

Will this replace a live , X, one, etc. NO. but I don't think that's what it's meant to do. could you do something similar with an iPad, yea probably.

Finger drummers will love it. On the go as an inexpensive production sketchpad tool.

There is still tons of room for Akai to add features, updates, etc to make it even better

the unit is about 9" x 7.6"
