I understand they’re planning 3.8 in April which would introduce “pad explode” for stem export, but what If we wanted to not only finish the project in the MPC software, but also be able to use the MPC Sample as the controller for the software to finish the beat?

It’d be pretty sweet imo. To be able to plug/unplug like when using a laptop as a main machine with a thunderbolt cable for charging/monitor at a desk and disconnecting to be portable.

Have they confirmed this? I randomly suggested this yesterday off the top of my head as a way to create pad stems from an MPC Sample single track, but that was just me thinking out loud, I'm not aware that this is actually a forthcoming thing.

Oh. I thought when reading that it was already a feature on the software. I haven't used my Live in some time and mainly use my 2500 these days. I suppose as far as official information from Akai, this is all I see on their website and InMusic:

If these are to remain and not update, I suppose this is moreso a sketchpad then. Feel like it makes more sense if we connect our MPC Sample to the PC/Mac, to be a controller in addition to mounting as external storage for file transfer of .xpj/[Project Data]. Cause then do we finish the beat with keyboard and mouse, or is it implied we will have to have another MPC from the One/Live/X series?

Granted a lot of us already may have multiple MPC's, what about for the person who starts on the Sample you know? Guess we'll see how this all plays out come April and onward.

I think you answered your own question. The Sample is like the free dime bag your local dealer gives you knowing you’ll get hooked and come asking for more

I hope we can use MPC software soon as a way of loading samples directly to the MPC Sample using drag n drop in the software....either that or a dedicated Editor / Librarian for the MPC Sample
