Using MPC One+ with External sequencer issue

I'm trying to solve this issue....I want to use the MPC as a standalone sampler with my Cirklon v2 and also use the pads on the MPC to play the performance into the Cirklon.
Is there anyway of doing this without getting a Midi Loop.
Getting Midi out of the MPC means I have to use a Drum track sending to a Midi track which works fine and can be recorded into the Cirklon.
The issue comes once the Cirklon sends the recorded notes back to the MPC to the play the Drum program. Whatever Midi hits the drum program is sent to the midi track and out of the MPC creating a MIDI loop. is there any way around this?
Midi thru is off on the Cirklon.

If i get it good, here is what you could try
Go to preferences / midi settings inputs of MPC
- Turn MPC Pad MPC Keyboard and MPC everything Global, control and track OFF
-Turn Cyrklon input to Global in OFF, Track in and Control in ON

in midi settings output :
- Turn MPC PADS "TRACK" ON : the pads will send midi out, but won't play internal sound if you d'ont route them trhough the cirklon

In Cirklon preferences
- experiment with Cirklon Midi Thru ON if you need it to send back midi on the MPC when playing the pads, to monitor what you play..


Back to MPC :
- Put only your Drum tracks or other "sounding" tracks on MONITOR IN This way, you just listen to what the MPC receive from the MIDi inputs port and channel you have set for each track, not what you are you playing or sending live from the pads of your MPC.

- make a midi out track for each drum, keygroup or plugin track. You will pbang the pads on these track to monitor from the cirklon and record on it.

these tracks dedicated to send MIDI OUT should have MONITORING OFF , so that they only send Midi and don't receive it. Route them properly on each corresponding track on the Cirklon.

Example
- Drumtrack 1 with samples : MONITOR IN . MIDI IN from cirklon, MIDI out to nothing
-Track 2 (midi out) MONITOR OFF , MIDI out to Cirklon , which will send it back to Drum track 1 without looping.

-Keygroup Track 3 with samples MONITOR IN . MIDI IN from cirklon, MIDI out to nothing
track 4 (midi out) MONITOR OFF , MIDI out to Cirklon , which will send it back to keygroup track3 .
And so on

- When the cirklon plays back , it should not make a midi loop, because : only the drum track receiving is armed to monitor.,and this track doesn't send.
you should make this for every track you need, each on a different Midi channel with its own Dummy Midi out corresponding.

Then you can experiment with midi settings, can you turn back on "GLOBAL" or "TRACK" on MPC pads without getting the loop ? It can help if you want also to play/practice your project without the cirklon in the chain.

Yes, this works, my midi loop is gone and the Cirk is recording midi without a loop as you said it would. Thank you very much for your suggestion.

....probably a separate issue but there is a slight latency with the MIDI out from the pads, the sounds are sounding at the right time when the pad is pressed but when the midi is recorded they record a little late, I'll explore what that could be..odd one.

why don't you use a MIDI track on the MPC (to send out to the cirklon) and a MPC drum track for your MIDI from the cirklon?
(that way there's no midi loop)
-above scenario you could even have separate/different MIDI channels
(if the cirklon can re-channelize)

Glad if it worked ... I was about to warn you about the latency that should occur. midi signals can take some milliseconds to go back and forth. The cirklon is undoubtedly not responsible of an audible midi latency, as it is a top notch sequencer. But yes :
Pad press - midi out latency- cirklon in and out latency-midi in receive latency in mpc - audio latency to produce sound , can be something you can hear...

You could try using midi cables rather than USB to link the 2 devices ( or the contrary if you were already on midi din cables). Do you have an estimation of this latency ( is it above 15_ 20 ms, barely audible, or more) .. I ve noticed some latency on my mpc receiving midi from my controller keyboard to play keygroups. On percussive sounds it is disturbing

It's a pretty noticeable latency, I'm using DIN cables but will try usb now to check the diff. l

That's the way I have it set up now and it seems to work well.

why don't you use a MIDI track on the MPC (to send out to the cirklon) and a MPC drum track for your MIDI from the cirklon?
(that way there's no midi loop)

No noticeable difference in latency issue with Usb Midi.
