Unable to export songs? Frustrations etc

Got my MPC Sample on the 28th, been working with it figuring out the work flow from the standpoint of a long time 404 user in live performance settings (never much used a sequencer, lot of resampling etc).

Huge annoyance I'm having right now is I am unable to even locate the songs I have exported using "song mode" after I plug it into my computer and access the card! what the hell?
obviously I can just plug it into my interface and record it into my daw, but one of the main features not working? drives me nuts!!

leads me to my next point: I got this box because I wanted to learn MPC sequencing workflow, programming the box etc, like I pointed out before I use my 404 as a sampler for live applications, I do make tunes on it but they're pretty simple and I just resample onto new pads whenever I want to add fx or "automation". MPC has always seemed from the outside to be much more robust in regards to its ability to be a stand alone music production station. I'm currently laid out waiting on a surgery with a year recovery time. Being up at my desk or in my studio to make music isn't really an option at the moment, which was what made the Sample so appealing. Now I'm wondering if I made a mistake in the jumping off point, seeing as MPC samples are selling open box for $600 plus on reverb theres a devil on my shoulder telling me to just flip the damn thing and get into an MPC Live.

so TLDR;

- song mode: how the hell do you get the songs out??
-box choice: is Sample a terrible first MPC? Should I hold out for some firmware updates? Should I flip the damn thing and pick up an MPC Live?

for now I'm firing up my 404 again because every time I use this thing I want to throw it at the wall.

You're probably better off getting a Live if you want the "mpc sequencing workflow" The Sample is more 404 than mpc as far as I can see

I really dont understand the idea of the Sample being an entry into the mpc experience since once you upgrade you'll have to learn a different workflow

But take what I say with a grain of salt because I dont have a Sample but have watched way too many hours of content on it lol

You have to export to an external SD card.

You cannot access anything on the internal drive right now.

tbh after a few days of work with the machine I've grown to love it, especially when running it in tandem with my 404mk2. there are things that both machines do better than the other and having them both linked up, sometimes switching the I/O chain, I've found an extremely robust work flow.
