Hi !!
Over 2 decades back I used the Boss DR-770 & DR-880 Drum Machines and got to know them pretty well.
1) I just picked up the MPC Sampler. I'd like to create patterns (loops), then store them to a pad. I'd then like to be able to play the pattern/loop by striking the pad and then manually live finger drum over that, thus layering additional instruments that were not in the loop. Is that possible with the MPC SAMPLE?
2) I went through the TOMS & SNARES ... The TOMS were too boomy and the SNARES not tight enough. Any idea from where I can get tighter Toms & Snares? I'm 65, retired (and not earning from Music), so would prefer free sample packs ... but willing to invest a bit if absolutely necessary to get the Sounds I desire.
Would appreciate all the pointers possible.
