Is this safe to download and install?

I mean it's neat that somebody found the link through Akai's content delivery network... but who knows if this is an alpha, beta, or release candidate. Since Akai hasn't announced it... I'd at least consider waiting until the generally available release comes out...

That said... it does offer up normalize, and likely some other features. Akai certainly isn't going to be telling us what's *in* it though, as whatever the Akai released version will likely have some other tweaks and changes.

Yeah. From the URL, it looks like they found it by incrementing the version number in the official firmware download link. It doesn't look like a beta version.

Did load it up over here... it's only got a few things I've found
* Normalize is available as SHIFT in the TRIM/MIX/AMP envelope page... it's handy...
* AMP/FILTER envelopes have a new SHIFT release start setting... so you can set where release starts from
* MIDI CONFIG (SHIFT+PAD8) settings to adjust knob/q-link behavior

There might be some bug fixes or hidden features I couldn't find, but beyond that... it's not a *huge* update by any means... and probably just worth waiting to see if anything else shows up with an official GA release.

AKAIPRO says 1.21

I assume this is the same version that looppop was using so consider this very much a beta and possibly unstable, assume there will be at least some minor revisions to this before official release as they'll also be fixing some of the incoming bug reports from 1.2.1.

Is there a way to update the mpc sample, via micro sd? After the day 1 update, the usb port has seem to only charge. My pc no longer recognizes it. Ive tried different cords, and devices, and they all work. Sad day..

Not possible AFAIK, if you can access a different computer try the update there, perhaps it's a computer issue. Also try a different SD card, formatted to exFAT.

Otherwise you should really just send the MPC Sample back as it's likely faulty.

I had the speaker of the mpc muted after firmware update (maybe a glitch because of knob behaviour change) I plugged in the headphones a few times and changing the volume while plugged in

I do feel they just waited with 1.3 as a marketing update customer thing (since it was already available in the looppop version)

I tried everything. Cords work with every other device. Its just that usb port on it. Thanks for the advice though. Unfortunately, thats what I ended up doing. 2 to 3 week wait.
